Mr.Toubro was also a Director of several companies in L&T Group. Mr. Toubro was a highly dedicated, serious minded person having a keen sense of duty. L&T Concrete is produced at ReadyMixConcrete (RMC) plants at Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. RMC comprises cement, aggregates, water and other ingredients which are weight batched at these centrallylocated plants. It is then delivered to the construction site in L&T transit mixers. The key to the effectiveness of L&T Concrete lies in the technology used at all stages from mixing to delivery. L&T's experienceinthecementindustrybothasaleadingmanufacturer and major consumer for all its own projects ensures that technology used and the quality of concrete are on par with internationalstandards. ECC's Developmental Projects Business Unit is geared to meet these emerging opportunities. The target segments are projects which will be executed on the BuildOwn OperateTransfer (BOOT), BuildOperateTransfer (BOT), Build OwnLeaseandTransfer (BOLT) principles, and other variants. These projects could typically be promoted by entrepreneurs/consortiums comprising private and public sector companies, financial institutions and multinationals. NARMADA BRIDGE: The scope of this project is design, construction, maintenance and operation of the second Narmada bridge at Zadeshwar Bharuch. The scope of the project includes constructionof1.4kmlongbridgeand4.8kmofapproachroads. Construction was completed in October 2000, and tollcollection startedfromNovember2000.
WATRACK BRIDGE: This Project, near Ahmedabad on NH8, consists of construction of a new bridge and approach road, in additiontomaintaininganexistingbridgeandits10kmapproach road. The total concession period of 128 months, included a constructionperiodof24months.Constructionwascompletedin December2000.
