Ericsson – DRG Configuration:-

DRG is used for FAX and Swiping application.

PC to DRG Remote connection:

To Browse the DRG’s which is in network just specify the IP address of the DRG in
Internet Explorer and browse the web page.
Use the command IPEXP:DIR=XXXX; (Extension No) to get IP Address of DRG.
Also DHCP Server utility can be used to get the IP address based on MAC ID of DRG.

PC to DRG Direct connection:

The below procedure is mentioned for Direct connection to DRG from PC.
Connect the WAN port of DRG directly to PC LAN port. Configure the IP address of PC
as per details given below.
IP : 192.168.254.100
Sub Net : 255.255.255.0

Now press the reset switch of DRG for 15 seconds and release so the setting will go
to factory default.
Then PING the IP address 192.168.254.254 from PC to see the PING status.

Once the ping starts then with Internet Explorer start the web browser by
entering the IP address http:// 192.168.254.254/

The browser will start with the below login screen.

Login Name: operator

Password: DRGPASS
Now Start the Upgrade Process for FAX usage.
For Swiping application DRG will work without upgrade process.

For FAX application DRG to be upgraded to H323 New Version with the below two
Files.

DMA0024-R2L359.r0
DRG22i_MD-IPLU_B1.INI

The below screen shows DRG without upgrade.

DRG Upgrade Procedure:-

DRG is upgraded with latest H323 files for FAX application.

Upgraded DRGs can be used for both FAX and Swiping.

Upgrade Process:-

TFTP server should be running and the below files should be in [C:\TFTP-Root]
Folder.

DMA0024-R2L359.r0
DRG22i_MD-IPLU_B1.INI

The PC which is loaded with TFTP server can be any where in Network.
(But for PC to DRG direct connection the TFTP server should be running in the same
PC)
The IP address of this PC to be noted for upgrade process.
Now Browse the DRG for upgrading the Binary File.
Host is IP address of the PC connected (Where TFTP server running)

Copy and Paste the File Name (DMA0024-R2L359.r0)

Now Press Start TFTP Upgrade.

DRG will restart and will come to Login Screen.

Now Enter Username & Password.

Now Browse the DRG for upgrading the Configuration File.

Copy and Paste the File Name (DRG22i_MD-IPLU_B1.INI)

Now Press Start TFTP Upgrade.

DRG will restart and will come to Login Screen.

Now Enter Username & Password.

Now Browse the DRG , the HOME page shows the New Upgraded files.

Note:-
Now Continue the Configuration Procedure which is mentioned Below.

To make the DRG in DHCP mode select Obtain WAN configuration using DHCP
option in WAN Configuration menu. Then click on Save Wan Setting.
The below screen shows the same.

In Telephone option select H323 menu and provide the below details:-

TelephoneLine Line 1 On
 Line 2 On (If two lines are needed)

HA Mode Line 1 Fixed

Line 2 Fixed

Gate Keeper IP (primary) 10.20.101.51

Gate Keeper IP (secondary) 10.20.100.51
Telephone Number xxxx (Extension Number)

Then Save the setting.

Set Codec’s/FAX option:-

Disable G729 for Line 1 & Line 2
Disable T38 Fax for Line 1 & Line 2

Then Save the setting.

Go to Restart option, and then click on Restart.

Now the DRG will restart once and the same will be ready to use.
