Lost a family member to death

Adaptive response: An adaptive response is Grandma Susy had been sick for a very long time and she lived a long life. She is now in a better place and is no longer in pain and suffering. Grandma will be missed but we can always remember all the good times we had spending with her. Maladaptive response: Grandma Susy died and we are so sad that we just cannot go on. The children sit and cry all day long and have taken far more time off work than should have been taken. 2. Lost a limb Adaptive response: John had an accident at work his arm was cut off by the saw. He has embraced the fact that despite losing his arm he is still alive and going to physical therapy and seeing the therapist to assist in getting back to a normal life. Maladaptive response: John lost his arm at work. He does not go to physical therapy and never went to the therapist that the doctor recommended. He sits around and does not do anything and lashes out at his wife and family. His wife is thinking of leaving because of his moodiness and anger.
