Why Aakash
Greetings from Aakash!
It is not enough to take steps which may some day lead to a goal; each step must be itself a goal and a step likewise.
Since our inception in the year 1988, we have made triumphant strides in the field of medical entrance coaching. We have been able to churn our toppers relentlessly and have earned endless laurels. The reasons behind this, of course have been, the blessings of the Almighty, proper planning at the Institute, sharp implementation of the planning, taking timely feedback from students regarding their level of satisfaction and follow up action to plug the shortcomings pointed out by the students from time to time. Over the years, this modus has evolved to perfection. Success, thereby, becomes inevitable. Aakash Institute is now regarded as the best in imparting coaching to Medical aspirants across India. We at Aakash Institute, are committed to revolutionize the approach towards teaching. This is well reflected in the measures we take to design the course curriculum, training the teachers in imparting the knowledge required to crack the medical entrance exams and our regular evaluation mechanism by way of tests of the highest standards. We pay a lot of attention to the student's individual needs in the form of doubt clarification as this support gives an extra edge to the students at Aakash with respect to the large mass of students with whom they have to compete. Keeping in mind for the distant students, Aakash Institute provides Distance Learning Program facility to such students. All those students who are unable to attend our regular classes either due to distance or due to Institutes stringent admission regulations, can benefit from the expertise of Aakash by joining our Distance Learning Programs (DLP) sitting in their home town. This is why, in the past 22 years of our existence, we have made more than 10,000 students successful in securing M.B.B.S. seats in various medical colleges through CBSE Jt. Entrance Exam. & other Medical entrance Exams. In 2010 alone, our 768 students got selected in CBSE-PMT, with 6 ranks in Top 10.

The fifth consideration is that the PERIODICAL TESTS in school and the coaching institute should be used as opportunities to master the concepts. When the students undergo any examination, specially those conducted by the coaching institutes, the students are able to analyze their capabilities on the following factors: 1. Whether the concepts are clear or not. The fact that the applications asked in competitive exams are normally always tricky shall be remembered. In fact, the problems are always fresh and for solving those concepts have to be well developed.
With so many students aspiring to capture the limited number of seats available for medical courses, competitive exams are the only viable option for selection to these courses. The exams require thorough preparation as these exams are known as elimination tests since the successful students have to eliminate lot of students to get into a medical college. This, of course does not imply that certain candidates do not deserve entry into these courses. It only means that it is not practically possible to accommodate each of the deserving candidates. There may be several demerits in the system but competitive exams are a reality for several students who appear in them, year after year. Success is crucial and difficult to achieve. Keeping this in mind, we have tried to list down certain tips which help students succeed in the competitive exams. The first prerequisite for success in these examinations is DETERMINATION. If the determination is strong, half the work is done. One must be mentally prepared for a rigorous preparation and a strong will power is all that you need to be meticulous in your studies. You must be completely determined to put in 100% from your end. As a second prerequisite, one needs to give sufficient number of hours of his/her TIME in studies. This is real hard work and involves significant sacrifices on part of the student. However, it is also
important to take out some time for relaxation, either through sports, music or other forms of entertainment. You must also include exercises (15 - 20 minutes) in your daily regimen to ensure a healthy body and fresh mind. The third requirement is definitely selection of the right STUDY MATERIAL, Shortcuts are a complete no. You must understand the chapters/concepts thoroughly and practice maximum number of problems. Standard textbooks are definitely required for your preparation apart from the study materials provided by the Coaching Institute. The fourth consideration is an appropriate STUDY STRATEGY. A very common question which students ask is, How can I balance school studies with competitive exam study? Such a balance is possible if the student understands that school studies can be incorporated within the broad framework of competitive exams' preparation. In this context, the student has to appreciate the fact that thorough concept building is important which is required for boards and competitive exams as well. If the concepts are well developed, one can sail through in Boards and the applications which are asked in competitive exams get simplified.
2. The students can find the weak areas and have the opportunity to strengthen them. 3. Speed assessment is very important while preparing for the competitive exams. The student must be aware of his/her ability to solve the problems in the shortest of time. When preparing for the competitive examinations, practicing previous years' papers is also important. This aspect of preparation also plays a key role in your strategy towards success, as this strategy clearly helps in making a fair assessment of the standard of the problems asked in these exams. Also, it is important to revise all important concepts, facts and problems that you might have marked during your 1 - 2 years of preparation before the competitive examination. Finally, on the day of the examination, your most important requirement is a CALM MIND. Attempt the questions with a clear head and do not get nervous. Remember, if you have given your best during the last 1 - 2 years, failure is out of the question. You must realize that only effort and not the result is what lies in your hands. The rest is destiny or luck. So go ahead, give your best shot and wait for your results!
If you want to see heaven, you will have to die. -J.C. Chaudhry Education is the progressive realization of our ignorance. -Albert Einstein Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with open one. -Malcolin S. Forbes Do one thing at a time, set aside specified time period It helps to develop concentration if you just do one thing at a time giving it your complete undivided attention. Multitasking (doing many things simultaneously) will make you distracted and it is an ineffective way of doing things contrary to what many people believe. Do one thing at a time in order to develop concentration. If you are trying to think about planning studies for your exam for the next 30 minutes or so, just think of that alone. Focus your mind on the details of the same and how you plan to do it. Do not let your attention wander to other things during this time. Do something as if for first or last time We take a lot of everyday things for granted and do not observe as intently as we should. In order to develop focus and observation, try to look at tasks which you do everyday as if you are doing or seeing them for the first or the last time. This will encourage you to observe details which you may have missed before, thus improving you observation, concentration and also in gaining new insights. 5 more rule From now on, if you're in the middle of a task and tempted to give up just do FIVE MORE. Read FIVE MORE pages. Finish FIVE MORE physics problems. Work FIVE MORE minutes. By implementing this strategy, you are stretching your mind past the point of frustration and building up mental endurance just as good athletes push past the point of exhaustion by not giving up when their body initially protests of tiredness. This is how they build up their stamina. Un-clutter your mind by writing down While doing something important, if order worries are invading your mind thus affecting your concentration then an effective way to overcome this problem is to write down any concern you might have on a piece of paper, next to it write down a date or time when you want to deal with this problem. Writing it down this way will help in un-cluttering your mind so that it is free to concentrate on the task at hand.

Reward yourself Decide before starting your work how you would like to reward yourself when you finish. The reward can be anything that makes you happy and relaxed like having your favorite food, going out for a walk, meeting your best friend etc. It doesn't have to be something big, any activity that gives you pleasure and takes your mind off work for some time will do. This system of rewarding yourself will increase motivation for doing things. Be task specific Before you start any work, be clear in your mind as to what you want to accomplish. Before sitting down to study for exams, be clear what chapter you want to study now, how much time do you intend to study etc. Be as specific as possible and move on to some other task only after you complete this. Use a concentration score sheet Whenever doing some important work, use a concentration score sheet. Each time you find your mind wandering, make a check mark on the sheet. If you do this on consistent basis, you may find that you have far fewer check marks and far greater concentration. Break task into smaller parts Breaking a task into smaller parts will make it seemless and help you approach it with more positivity. If you are trying to study a textbook for exam, then you can make a goal of finishing one chapter at a time. Do a thing wholeheartedly If you approach something half-heartedly, it can show in the quality of the work. In order to do things better, do them with interest. Whatever you are doing, try to find some aspect of it that interests you. If you can find something interesting in each thing you do, you can enjoy even the most mundane and boring tasks.
The important thing is not to stop questioning. -Albert Einstein Education is the movement from darkness to light. -Allen Bloom Education is the ability to meet life's situations. -Dr. John G. Hibben Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity. -Aristotle Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the World. -Nelson Mandela Our attitude towards ourselves should be to be satiable in learning and towards others to be tireless in teaching. -Mao Zedong All of life is a constant education. -Eleanor Roosevelt Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten. -BF Skinner Invest in yourself, in your education. There's nothing better. -Sylvia Porter The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. -William Arthur Ward
