 Lines that suggest action or movement.
Jagged Lines
 Lines that are harsh and unpleasant.
Lines
 Is
man’s invention. It does not exist in
nature. The lines we “see” in nature
are,on close observation, veins of
leaves, the joining of two different
surfaces, or the edges of objects. The
artist uses lines to imitate or to present
objects and figures on a flat surface.
 Lines have many qualities which the
artist explores. They may be a short or
long, fine or thick, heavy or light, wavy
or jagged, straight or curved. They
usually delineate shapes. Used across
or within a shape texture. A series of
heavy lines drawn close to each other
create an impression of roughness. On
the other hand, a few light strokes can
give a sensation of softness and
delicacy.
Vertical Lines
 Linesthat are at right angle and or
perpendicular to a plane. They carry
your eyes upward and create a soaring
feelings.
Horizontal lines
 Lines that are parallel to the horizon.
 They lead your eyes from left to right or
vice versa.
Angular Lines
 Linesthat have sharp edges. They can
be long or short.
Curve Lines
Lines that are without angles.
Curved lines are graceful and show
life energy.
Other Kinds of lines are:

Color
 Is the quality of an object or substance
with respect to light reflected by it and
usually determined visually by
measurement of hue, Saturation and
brightness of the reflected light. It is a
series of wavelengths which strike our
retina. Every ray light coming from the sun
is composed of different waves which
vibrate at different speeds.
 This can be prove when we allow a beam
of light to pass through a prism. This ray
bof light breaks up and is seen on sheets
of white paper as bands of different colors.
The colors red, orange,
yellow,green,blue,indigo, and violet
constitute the spectrum. All colors come
from the sun through its light rays.
YELLOW
 Is the color of light. It symbolizes life,
sunshine, warmth, cheerfulness,
magnificence, splendor, and hospitality. It
is gay, brilliant, and inspring.
 We can see different colors around. Some
colors are bright, sharp, dark, and pale.

 Eachcolors has different emotional and


character signification:
