The examination procedure for the Visual Welding Inspector consists of only a practical examination: Practical Part A inspection of a plate of pipe butt weld to a code provided by the Test Centre Practical Part B inspection of a T-joint fillet weld (not fractured) to a code provided b the test centre. Both practical exam will demonstrate candidate knowledge of codes and standards, defects terminology, inspection points, identification of weld defects, and identification of consumables to British, European, ISO and American standards, Visual examination and dimensional checking before and after welding, identification of pre-heat and health and safety requirements and practices.

COURSE PRESENTATION
All learning material required in the course will be in English and presented bilingual (English and Bahasa). Course duration 2 days and day exam.

CSWIP 3.0 VISUAL WELDING INSPECTOR

INTRODUCTION
PT. Dua Utama Jaya is one of two authorized TWI training center in Indonesia, specifically located in Batam. Officially appointed by TWI South East Asia (TWISEA) since September 2004 and already have regular schedule to conduct CSWIP Welding Inspector 3.0 ; 3.1 and 3.2. The Certification Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel (CSWIP) is a comprehensive scheme which provides for the examination and certification of individuals seeking to demonstrate their knowledge and/or competence in their field of operation. The scope of CSWIP includes all levels of Welding Inspectors, Welding Supervisors, Welding Instructors and Underwater Inspection personnel. CSWIP has been accredited by UK government for personnel certification in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024 through the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are expected to have an engineering background and to have successfully completed an approved course of training on visual inspection of welds or mature candidate who are able to demonstrate at least five years recent continuous experience in welding inspection duties An eyesight test certificate, inclusive Ishihara and Jaeger 1 must be submitted with the application form CV / Resume of personal qualifications 3 Passport size photograph

Approved invigilator/examiner for TWISEA, Mr. Mohd. Darus Bin Taib who also the Manager of TWI South East Asia and the chairman of Welding Institute of Malaysia (WIM).
