FREQUENCY: every 8
hours

cell wall synthesis and
division by binding to all
cell wall causing cell
death.

Prophylactic for
infection(surgical
infection)



> Use cautiously with
renal disease.

> Contraindicated with
hypersensitivity to
cefuroxime




CNS: seizures
G: nausea and
vomiting
Hematologic disorder:
Hemolytic anemia




1. Report when sign and
symptoms worsen.
2. Monitor neurologic status
particularly sign of
impending seizures
3. Monitor kidney and liver
function test
4. Advise the patient to
report CNS changes
5. Advise patient to
immediately report bleeding
tendencies.
