Press Release 78/2011 26 August 2011 Filipina Accused of Theft Exonerated and Repatriated with Compensation The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announces that last 21 August 2011, a Filipina accused by her employer of the theft of a very expensive ring equivalent to 100,000 US dollars was repatriated to the Philippines. Through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in the Eastern Region (POLO-ERO) led by Labor Attach Adam Musa, the Embassy was able to work for the exoneration of the Filipina and her subsequent repatriation. The sponsor issued the exit visa for the Filipina, who had been staying at the Saudi Social Welfare Authority of Dammam for the past four (4) months. The sponsor also provided her a one-way ticket to the Philippines. In addition to dropping the case, the employer gave to the Filipina SAR 10,000 as a gesture of compensation, as the case had dragged on for the last four months, and also gave her an amount equivalent to the salaries that she should have received for the said period of time.
