CV: orthostatic hypotension, thrombophlebitis(with IV use), volume depletion, dehydration EENT: blurred or yellow vision, transient deafness GI: abdominal cramping, anorexia, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, pancreatitis, vomiting GU: azotemia, frequent urination, nocturia, oliguria, polyuria Hematologic: agranulocytosis, anemia, aplastic anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia

Monitor weight, peripheral edema, breath sounds, blood pressure, fluid intake and output, and electrolyte, glucose, BUN, and carbon dioxide levels Be alert for adverse reactions and drug interactions If oliguria or azotemia develops or increases, notify prescriber

Hepatic: hepatic dysfunction Metabolic: asymptomatic hyperuricemia; fluid and electrolyte imnbalances, including delutional hyponatremia, hypocalcemia, and hypomagnesemia; glucose intolerance; hyper glycemia; hypochloremic alkalosis; hypokalemia Skin: dermatitis, photosensitivity, purpura Other: gout, transient pain at I.M. injection site.

Instruct patient to report ringing of ears, severe abdominal pain, or sore throat and fever because they may indicate toxicity. Advise patient to stand slowly to prevent dizziness
