Kejang Demam Kompleks sebagai Faktor Risiko Epilepsi

Abstrak : ABSTRACTObjective : to identify children and adult epilepsy and non epilepsy, and determine the number of those who had complex febrile seizures and those who had not. Among those who had complex febrile seizures, we determined the number of those who had focal seizures, prolonged febrile seizures and multiple febrile seizures.Design : Hospital based study, retrospective studySubject : 117 people with epilepsy and 117 people without epilepsy.Main outcome measures : information about previous febrile seizures, obtained from anamnesis of epileptic patients in outpatient epilepsy clinic and EEG clinic Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya, and healthy people .Result : 17 out of 117 people with epilepsy had history of complex febrile seizures, and 13 of them was multiple febrile seizures. Among 117 people without epilepsy, only 3 had history of complex febrile seizures. Odd Ratio is 6.46.Conclusion : Complex febrile seizures, especially multiple febrile seizures is a high risk factor for development of epilepsy.Key words : complex febrile seizures, multiple febrile seizures, prolonged febrile seizures, focal febrile seizures, epilepsy
