Adjectives

Adjectives are describing words. We use adjectives to make our nouns and pronouns more interesting. They add size, shape, age, colour and feelings to the noun or pronoun.

Compare the two description: It was morning. Suddenly he saw two figures. It was a cold, black winter s morning. There was nothing to see but the long rows of gas lamps. He felt rather lonely. Suddenly, he saw two figures. One was that of a little man. The other was that of a young girl.
