A Natomas Youth Writing and Art Competition

Submit your work for a collection of teen art and writing to be published May 2012. Entry Requirements: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. One art and/or writing entry per person. Entrants must be age 13-18 (must turn 13 on or before March 1, 2012). Entrants must live or attend school in Natomas (Sacramento), California. Writings and Art should be based on the theme, "Choices." All entrants must certify that their work is original. Follow the sample submission form on the back of this flyer for the content of the admission e-mail. E-mail your submission to northnatomaslibrary@gmail.com no later than March 1, 2012.

Specific Writing Submission Requirements: 1. Prose or poetry must be submitted electronically as a word document using Times New Roman in 12 font and one inch margins. 2. There is a two page maximum. 3. Include the title of the work at the top of the page. 4. Do not include your name or school information in your word document. Specific Art Submission Requirements:

1. To send artwork or photographs by email attachment, scan items as a greyscale of at least 300 dpi and
smaller than 10mb when saved. Do not scan as a halftone. Save all items as a TIF (.tif) file before sending as an attachment. Art will only be published in black and white. 2. Do not send a version of someone else's work, or drawing of a copyrighted character, like Spiderman. Other Important Information: 1. Entries will not be returned. Keep a copy for yourself. 2. Writing and art may need to be edited as needed due to sizing needs for the publication. We reserve the right to publish the edited version without obtaining the author's prior approval. 3. All materials submitted become the property of the Sacramento Public Library (SPL). By submitting your work to SPL, you are giving the Sacramento Public Library and its partners, affiliates and licensees the non-exclusive rights to publish your work in any format, including all print, electronic and online media. 4. Entrants will be notified of their inclusion in the project.
