10 Tips Menahan Marah

1. BERWUDHU Air sejuk yang dicipratkan atau dibasuhkan saat berwudhu akan mengurangi panasnya bara api amarah dalam hati. Kalau saat marah sedang berdiri maka duduklah. Jika sedang duduk masih emosi, maka berbaringlah. Dan jika masih juga belum tertahankan maka berwudhulah. Lebih baik jika dilanjutkan dengan shalat sunnah. 2. LEBIH RELIGIUS Perbanyak bacaan Islami/ relijius, ikutlah berbagai aktivitas masjid/ pengajian. Karena, berada di komunitas spiritual, membantu diri kita khusnudzon/ berpikir positif. Dan, pada akhirnya akan mengekang segala negative thinking, emosi dan dengki. 3. SENYUM DAN TERTAWA Amarah dan humor memang tidak sama dan tak mungkin dalam satu waktu. Sehingga jika mau tertawa, dan tak ada salahnya menertawakan diri sendiri pada saat suasana mulai tidak mengenakkan hati...maka amarah yang siap keluar bakal mereda. Ingat-ingat juga lagu Raihan dan tausiyah Aa Gym tentang Senyum. 4. MENDENGARKAN Cobalah untuk menutup mulut, diam... mendengarkan. Diam sanggup meredam amarah, saat bersitegang dengan lawan bicara. Setelah itu, saat berbicara, maka nada bicara akan terdengar lebih bijak. Itulah kenapa Allah memberikan 2 buah telinga dan 1 buah mulut kepada manusia. Artinya Manusia harus lebih banyak mendengar daripada berbicara. 5. TINGKATKAN EMPATI Lihat situasinya menurut perspektif orang lain. Ini akan membuat kita menemukan kecakapan baru, bisa merasakan apa yang mereka rasakan. Maka, orang lain akan lebih menghargai kita. 6. MEMAAFKAN Betapa pun pernah luka yang dalam dan membekas di hati, cobalah untuk memaafkan... Meskipun hal itu tidak mungkin untuk dimaafkan. Cobalah melepaskan amarah dengan memaafkannya. Percayalah, hidup akan lebih ringan dan aura akan lebih memancar dengan lebih sering memaafkan. 7. TOLERANSI Belajar menerima orang lain apa adanya, bukan ingin menjadikan mereka sesuai kehendak kita. Dengan toleran, maka pada saat berbicara, kita akan lebih didengarkan orang lain. 8. SAHABAT KARIB Seorang sahabat karib, bisa dipercaya dan dapat memberikan dukungan buat kita saat diperlukan. Sahabat juga tempat untuk berbagi. Dengan berbagi, gemuruh amarah akan menemukan pelepasannya, sehingga bisa diredakan. Curhat, tapi tidak ngegosip! 9. BAHASA POSITIF DAN LUGAS Meskipun marah karena merasakan ketidak adilan pada diri kita, tetaplah fokus dan selektif. Gunakan bahasa positif namun lugas dan santun dengan nada suara rendah. Ini bisa membuat rasa marah mereda dan bicara kitapun akan lebih diperhatikan, dibandingkan jika mengungkapkannya dengan nada tinggi dan keras, apalagi jika sampai memaki dan menghujat... 10. BINATANG PELIHARAAN Nah, daripada saat marah "seluruh isi kebun binatang" keluar dari mulut, lebih baik memelihara hewan kesayangan. Ini tidak menuntut banyak, kecuali makanan dan perhatian. Memelihara hewan kesayangan adalah tindakan bagus dan baik, sebagai awal untuk belajar memperhatikan lingkungan sekitar.
