2. Duplicate the layer by pressing the keyboard shortcut CMD/CTRL-J. 3. From the ENHANCE menu, select ADJUST SHARPNESS. 4. In the ADJUST SHARPNESS dialog box, enter AMOUNT: 200, RADIUS: 2.0, REMOVE GAUSSIAN BLUR.
5. From the LAYER menus, select NEW, LAYER or press the keyboard shortcut SHIFT-CMD/CTRL-N.
6. In the NEW LAYER dialog box, set the BLENDING MODE: OVERLAY and tick the FILL WITH OVERLAY-NEUTRAL COLOUR box.

9. Reset your FOREGROUND and BACKGROUND COLOUR PALETTES to default by pressing the D key on your keyboard. 10. With the black colour selected, paint on the nose, jaw line, and any shadowy areas. ***Your objective is to add contrast to the image by darkening some areas and lightening other areas. 11. Swap the colours by pressing the X key on your keyboard so WHITE is selected. 12. Adjust the size of the brush and paint on the eyes and lips. ***Your layer will start to look like the outline of a face.
13. In the LAYERS PALETTE, press the ADJUSTMENT LAYER icon (black/white cookie) and select HUE/SATURATION. 14. In the HUE/SATURATION adjustments, select the MASTER channel, SATURATION: -35, LIGHTNESS: -25. ***Or adjust to your liking.

17. In the LEVELS adjustment, drag the GREY slider to the right.
