Mental/oral Obj Activity


M Rhears e place value in 5-digit nos Ask a child to write a 4-digit no on the f/c without you seeing it. Ask chn to answer yes or no to your questions as you try to guess the no. Swap roles: choose a no, then chn guess. Give chn no cards and set challenges for them to do! e. g. Show me a 5digit multiple of 5; a 4-digit no btwn 4999 & 5100. Children work in pairs, and write answers on their whiteboards. Draw a 2 x 6 grid on the f/c. Write a 3-digit no in each space. Chn work as fast as possible to keep up, writing the nearest 10 as you write the nos. Check answers together. Rpt if you have time.
