    Distinguished scholar and civic leader Claire Gaudiani calls these women social entrepreneurs, arguing that they brought the same drive and strategic intent to their pursuit of the greater good that their male counterparts applied to building the nations capital markets throughout the nineteenth century.

    Claire Gaudiani, PhD,

    author of two previous books, The Greater Good and Generosity Unbound, Claire Gaudiani is an idealist and engaged American. Her writing and speaking call on fellow citizens to leave the world a better place. Her work life volunteer, trustee, corporate director, community developer, teacher, writer, college president- put this aspiration into practice.

    David Graham Burnett, PhD, is

    Claires husband of forty-three years, her partner in Gaudiani Associates, and has corporate experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
