Sometimes I like to compare our patient presentation with our business card. I mean whats a business card for? It introduces us who we are, what our qualifications are, what we know. And often our presentations are the same. If we give a good, clear presentation, people generally will think were a good, qualified doctor. But if we give a poor one, they will think just the opposite. I want to start with this idea to appeal to your sense of pride just to say that presentations are very important, and perhaps more important than you realize.
The who is Youre not going to give the same presentation to these four groups. Our presentations need to change based on who
If I think its infectious, Ill mention the temperature and white count. If it might be cardiac, Ill describe the heart sounds
If you dont ask, they wont tell you. If you really wanted to know how to prevent another event, but forgot to ask, the consultant cant read your mind

Look at your handout With How I want you to think about how long your presentation should be not just long/short but 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes

Break up into small groups each group has a different type of presentation. After some time to think, change format so that you can type on your slides
