Sample CBC Test

The most common test to determine whether you have enough red blood cells is the Complete Blood Count (CBC) test. It is routine for your doctor to order a CBC test before each chemotherapy treatment. Blood counts are important because they help you and your doctor determine if your red blood cell count has dropped too low, which helps to determine if you are anemic. CBC tests arent difficult to read. Although your own test results will be different than those shown here, you can learn how to read your own CBC results from the sample chart.
This column shows counts that are lower (L) or higher (H) than the normal range.
