    To our public members, If you havent been contacted by activists demanding you sever your ties with ALEC, you will be soon. A coalition of opportunistic unions, liberal foundations and activists are working to relegate ALEC to the sidelines of the economic policy debates happening in every statehouse in America. This campaign is brought to you by the same people who continually advocate for more and more European-style economic policies that will keep us mired in slow growth. In the wake of these attacks, I want to reassure you that not only are we aggressively fighting this campaign; we are redoubling our efforts to address the two biggest challenges facing this country: job creation and economic growth. In sharp contrast to whats happening in Washington, policymakers at the state level are making headway in tackling the nations problems. Fostering the healthy and necessary exchange of solutions-oriented ideas is precisely why ALEC exists. Its also why the activists are up in arms. They know that our collective work in promoting and passing resolutions to reign in Obamacare is a threat to their greatest cause. They are troubled by the fact that we have partnered with you, Americas state legislators, to research and develop better, more effective public policies legislation that creates a more transparent, accountable government, policies that place a priority on free enterprise and consumer choice, and tax policies that are fair, simple and that spur the kind of competitiveness that puts Americans back to work. The principles of free-market enterprise, limited government and federalism have never been more important than they are today. Now more than ever, policymakers need an organization like ALEC to foster the open exchange of ideas in state government where all the action will take place as Congress remains gridlocked for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your support as we refocus to deliver sound policy solutions that increase economic growth and job creation.
