Sub: Rationalisation of freight rates effective from 06.03.2012.

1. Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded to rationalise the freight rates. A copy of the revised freight rate tables is enclosed herewith. 2. 2.1 The sanction of the Central Government is also accorded for the following: The intermediate Class 130~A stands abolished; in other words, the Class rate of

commodities under Class 130~A is restored to Class-130. 3. Zonal Railways should ensure that requisite number of copies of the revised Freight Rates Tables (Goods Tariff No.46, Part-II) are collected from the General Secretary, IRCA by deputing staff. 4. Steps should be taken to ensure that the staff fully understand the changes in the method of charging in Freight Rates Table (Goods Tariff No.46, Part-II) and all other related instructions and implement them correctly. Commercial Inspectors (CMls) and Traffic Inspectors of Accounts (TIAs) should be deputed to goods sheds/ stations/ sidings etc. for ensuring correct implementation of the instructions and rationalization of undercharges if any. 5. 6.
