STATEMENT OF PURPOSE I introduce myself as a student who completed masterss Degree fromJ.J. college of arts & science, pudukkottai,Tamilnadu,India.

My school days imparted me in laying up a good foundation with all round development. It was the inquisitiveness and hard work that made me one among the top students in all levels of study. I secured good aggregate in my junior college. A sense of achievement has been a constant motivating factor towards building my career. Ever since I was introduced to the concepts of Genetic code and cloning in my high school, I developed a passion for Biotechnology, which led me to pursue my masters degree in Biotechnology. Well, now turning to my academics. First thing you will notice of my postgraduate curriculum is its multidisciplinary approach. The courses range from Cell Biology to Tissue Culture;Bioinformatics to Researchmethodology ; Genetics to Genetic Engineering; Biostatistics to C programming; I evenly cherish all these subjects and in a jury of inquest to find the missing link which unifies them all. Biotechnology is a profession which has invaded every sphere of all branches of science and one cannot imagine the promptness and efficiency of work and technical advancement of the present era with out it. I am proud to have taken such a field which gives real sense of meaning to innovation. Anything and everything that we see today is a part of Biotechnology. This urged me to be a part of a field which involves planning at the highest level and brimming with natural flair.

I am an energetic young chap always willing to dissipate energy (In accord with Laws of Thermodynamics! however) by enthusiastically participating in various academic, cultural and social events. My postgraduate project includes the Genotyping of HBV and Real time PCR. I have also done PG.diploma in bioinformatics under Bhathidasan unviversity. I realize how important it is, in an interdisciplinary course like biotechnology, to work with people of diverse backgrounds, and at the same time, be able to work individually. I have also earned a good knowledge in computer language such as c and SAS. Accordingly, I availed myself of numerous opportunities to be a leader and responsible person and I enjoyed all such experiences immensely. I enjoy teaching Science facts to local school kids whenever I find myself at ease. Why this course? Firstly, the area of biology, which interests me most, is stem cell research. For e.g.: Regenerative or reparative medicine A treatment in which Stem Cells are induced to differentiate into the specific cell type required to repair damaged or depleted adult cell Populations or tissues. Today, donated organs and tissues are often used to replace ailing or destroyed tissue, but the need for transplantable tissues and organs far outweighs the available supply. Stem cells, directed to differentiate into specific cell types, offer the possibility of a renewable source of replacement cells and tissues to treat diseases including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, spinal cord injury, stroke, burns, heart disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. The main reason for this area of interest is the promising prospects of regenerative medicine to treat diseases, which have not got any drug therapy, yet.

As cell is considered as structural and functional unit of an organism and studying it carefully can sort out many problems regarding any area of science, especially in medical field. Studying about molecules such as DNA, RNA, and PROTEINS and their transcriptional control, signaling pathways can sort out many diseases even pandemic diseases like AIDS also. I am very much interested in doing research in this area in addition to stem cell research. This flexibility in selecting the courses and taking up class work greatly impressed me. A masters Research degree from a prestigious uk university. While my sights are firmly set on graduation, it is my desire to pursue doctoral program following my postgraduation. My long-term goal is to carve out a niche for myself in the world research community, and contribute significantly to human society. I have the necessary bent, zeal and the capacity to undertake independent work. Having honed my communication skills I can double up as a teaching assistant as well. To acquire the necessary skills and knowledge I want to pursue my degree in detail in my masters research program. Any way my quest for knowledge will not end with masters research Degree and I will look forward to my doctoral program also. I am interested in setting up an industry in my motherland after I am technically sound.
