The risk of crashing while texting and driving is 23 more times possible. Eyes get distracted for an average of 4.6 seconds. Teen drivers are four more times likely to crash than an adult.

About 6,000 deaths and half a million injuries are caused by distracted drivers every year. 10% of teens drive outside the lane. Nearly 1,000 crashes involving 16 and 17 year olds. Over one third of all drivers, ages 24 and under are texting on the road.

Campaigns from celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey but they have not worked. Only Some States have been banned like: Washington Oregon Nevada California Utah Colorado Wyoming

In some places some parents make their teens that are already driving sign a No Driving While Texting Contract.
