Interfacing DELTA with Ghostscript Delta has the capability to pipe EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) files to Ghostscript.

Ghostscript in turn can convert these files to a variety of outputs. Delta supports PDF, JPEG and TIFF as valid Ghostscript outputs. Obtain Ghostscript from http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/ Install Ghostscript. Note the location it installs it to. Typically it will install to c:\ or c:\program files\gs Start up Delta. File -> Preferences. Click on the 3rd tab (Printer Icon). Scroll down to the entry called Ghostscript (Figure 1).

Click on the blue folder icon to navigate to the location that Ghostscript was installed. In the is example it is installed under c:\gs (Figure 2). Select the folder gs in the top pane.

There will be a sub-folder called gs<VERSION number> (Figure 3). In this example it is 8.14, but newer versions are available on the web site. Select this folder.

Sub-folder bin, select this as shown in Figure 4.

The bottom pane will display the files in the bin directory. Select gswin32.exe as shown in Figure 5. Followed by hitting the Apply and Close in order.

The Preferences tool should update with the appropriate path Figure 6.

Save and Close, shut Delta Down, restart Delta. From this point onwards when printing (assuming Plot pop-up is TRUE) additional output choices will be available Figure 7.

Enter a filename, select the file type (EPS, PS, PDF, JPD or TIFF). Hit OK. The file will get saved to your local reports directory. Typically this is c:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\My documents\delta\reports Note 1: Do not set the DPI for JPG or TIFF greater than 300 otherwise a very large file will get generated. Note 2: EPS files can be manipulated using graphics editor programs such as Adobe Illustrator.
