WORKS
OF
ANGELS

2
FOREWORD

Angels are perceived to be big and powerful. They were the first spiritual
beings God created. Through the centuries and since the earlier times angels have
mingled with men and were seen and others were unseen. They do Gods bidding
and command. They execute His will. They are so numerous and mighty that no
armies on earth or even the demons can overcome. Angels do surround and protect
Gods children- the heirs of salvation. In the spiritual realm they work with us. Our
prayers when answered by God the angels move. Our battle is not with flesh and
blood but spiritual pulling down strongholds and in these battles angels do their
work. They are Gods instruments whenever He executes His will. They act when
God saves His people. They act when God executes His judgment on the wicked.
They possess wisdom and spiritual powers. They are holy. Angels battle for us in
fulfilling the will for God. They are our allies and companions. They battle for us
against demons and spiritual forces of darkness and evil that suppress the truth
and hinder us in fulfilling the will of God. We are not alone in our quest. In Jesus
name and in our petitions to God they act and move. The Son of God shall come
again in His glory with His mighty angels.

The purpose of this book is for believers to realize that God has purposely
given the angels to assist us, deliver us, protect us, battle for us with our prayers
and struggles in the spiritual realm and manifest in the physical realm. We must
see them as our daily companion in our ministries, families, work and wherever we
are doing Gods will. When Elisha was surrounded by his enemies the Lord opened
the eyes of his servant and saw the horses and chariots of fire that are with them
to deliver them against the armies of Aram. Daniel when he was praying an angel
appeared to him and said that God heard and answered his prayers and the angels
waged war against the forces of darkness. Cornelius was praying to God daily and
the angel appeared to him and said God heard his prayers and was commanded
what to do. Angels do work with God in our prayers. As we pray they move in Gods
command and bid. Jesus said to Pilate His Kingdom is not of this world. When Jesus
was praying to the Father when He took the human form and was about to be
killed, was strengthened by an angel. He told Peter God can send more than 12
legions of angels to save Him in an appeal at His own disposal. Peter, Paul and the
apostles were delivered by angels from imprisonment. Angels appeared many times
in the lives Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Moses and many saints in the New Testament.
They led, guided, assisted, and guarded them. Angels fill the heavens and they are
here on earth with us today. Saints, angels are around us and working with us for
the fulfillment of Gods will. We are not alone.

ANGELS OF THE LORD

Spirits that have abilities

Angels do have abilities that humans do not have. They can do the things for us that
we cannot do. What are impossible for us to do because of our limited abilities they work for
us as God commands them.

Lot delivered by two angels.

GE 19:1
Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of
Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the
ground.
GE 19:2
And he said, Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servants house, and
spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way. They
said however, No, but we shall spend the night in the square.
GE 19:3
Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and
he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
GE 19:4
Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house,
both young and old, all the people from every quarter;
GE 19:5
and they called to Lot and said to him, Where are the men who came to you
tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.
GE 19:6
But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him,
GE 19:7
and said, Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.
GE 19:8
Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let
me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men,
inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.
GE 19:9
But they said, Stand aside. Furthermore, they said, This one came in as an alien,
and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them. So they
pressed hard against Lot and came near to break the door.
GE 19:10
But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and
shut the door.
GE 19:11
They struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both
small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.

The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses and God spoke.

EX 3:1
Now Moses was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and
he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
EX 3:2
The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and
he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed.
EX 3:3
So Moses said, I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is
not burned up.
EX 3:4
When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of
the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here I am.
EX 3:5
Then He said, Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the
place on which you are standing is holy ground.

5
He said also, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and
EX 3:6

the God of Jacob. Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
An angel hindered Balaam to go.

NU 22:22
But God was angry because he was going, and the angel of the LORD took his stand
in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey and his two
servants were with him.
NU 22:23
When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way with his drawn
sword in his hand, the donkey turned off from the way and went into the field; but Balaam
struck the donkey to turn her back into the way.
NU 22:24
Then the angel of the LORD stood in a narrow path of the vineyards, with a wall on
this side and a wall on that side.
NU 22:25
When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she pressed herself to the wall and
pressed Balaams foot against the wall, so he struck her again.
NU 22:26
The angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no
way to turn to the right hand or the left.
NU 22:27
When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam
was angry and struck the donkey with his stick.
NU 22:28
And the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, What have
I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?
NU 22:29
Then Balaam said to the donkey, Because you have made a mockery of me! If there
had been a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now.
NU 22:30
The donkey said to Balaam, Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your
life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you? And he said, No.
NU 22:31
Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD
standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand; and he bowed all the way to the
ground.
NU 22:32
The angel of the LORD said to him, Why have you struck your donkey these three
times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was contrary to me.
NU 22:33
But the donkey saw me and turned aside from me these three times. If she had not
turned aside from me, I would surely have killed you just now, and let her live.
NU 22:34
Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, I have sinned, for I did not know that you
were standing in the way against me. Now then, if it is displeasing to you, I will turn back.
NU 22:35
But the angel of the LORD said to Balaam, Go with the men, but you shall speak
only the word which I tell you. So Balaam went along with the leaders of Balak.

An angel of the Lord appeared and rebuke Israel.

JDG 2:1
Now the angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, I brought
you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I
said, I will never break My covenant with you,
JDG 2:2
and as for you, you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall
tear down their altars. But you have not obeyed Me; what is this you have done?
JDG 2:3
Therefore I also said, I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as
thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.
JDG 2:4
When the angel of the LORD spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people
lifted up their voices and wept.
JDG 2:5
So they named that place Bochim; and there they sacrificed to the LORD.

6
Angels can resemble man

Angels sometimes appear to us as men. They can take the human form and do what
humans can do. They do it for a purpose and a mission from the Lord.

Angels appeared to Lot and ate with him.

An angel appeared to Peter and delivered him from prison.

AC 12:7
And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and
he struck Peters side and woke him up, saying, Get up quickly. And his chains fell off his
hands.
AC 12:8
And the angel said to him, Gird yourself and put on your sandals. And he did so.
And he *said to him, Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.
AC 12:9
And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being
done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
AC 12:10
When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that
leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one
street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

They appear as strangers.

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained
HEB 13:2

angels without knowing it.

Angels are exceedingly numerous

Angels are everywhere. We may not see them with our eyes but they fill the heavens
and the earth. In His Throne thousands upon thousands worship and minister to God.

Jacob saw angels descending and ascending from heaven to earth.

GE 28:10
Then Jacob departed from Beersheba and went toward Haran.
GE 28:11
He came to a certain place and spent the night there, because the sun had set; and
he took one of the stones of the place and put it under his head, and lay down in that place.
GE 28:12
He had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to
heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

7
And behold, the LORD stood above it and said, I am the LORD, the God of your
GE 28:13

father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to
your descendants.

Angels ascending and descending on Jesus.

And He *said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see the heavens opened and
JN 1:51

the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.

Thousands upon thousands

The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands;

PS 68:17

The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.

More than 12 legions at Jesus disposal

Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My
MT 26:53

disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

Myriads upon myriads of angels

DA 7:9

I kept looking
Until thrones were set up,
And the Ancient of Days took His seat;
His vesture was like white snow
And the hair of His head like pure wool.
His throne was ablaze with flames,
Its wheels were a burning fire.
DA 7:10
A river of fire was flowing
And coming out from before Him;
Thousands upon thousands were attending Him,
And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;
The court sat,
And the books were opened.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly
HEB 12:22

Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,

Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living
REV 5:11

creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands
of thousands,

8
Their powers are inconceivable

Angels are so powerful and mighty. They cannot be destroyed or overcome by

anything on earth. They can uproot nations or put armies into flight. They can send
destruction to Gods enemies.

Angels are mighty in strength.

Bless the LORD, you His angels,

PS 103:20

Mighty in strength, who perform His word,

Obeying the voice of His word!

The angel of the Lord destroyed the Assyrian armies.

2KI 19:32
Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He will not come to
this city or shoot an arrow there; and he will not come before it with a shield or throw up a
siege ramp against it.
2KI 19:33
By the way that he came, by the same he will return, and he shall not come to this
city, declares the LORD.
2KI 19:34
For I will defend this city to save it for My own sake and for My servant Davids
sake.
2KI 19:35
Then it happened that night that the angel of the LORD went out and struck 185,000
in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men rose early in the morning, behold, all of them
were dead.
2KI 19:36
So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home, and lived at Nineveh.
2KI 19:37
It came about as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that
Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of
Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son became king in his place.

Angels are mighty.

and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will
2TH 1:7

be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,

Angels are intelligent

Angels are spiritual being of indeed higher form than us. They possess knowledge
that are heavenly. Ours are limited and they too are limited but of higher level than us.

Angels possess wisdom and knowledge.

But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,
MK 13:32

but the Father alone.

9
in order to change the appearance of things your servant Joab has done this thing.
2SA 14:20

But my lord is wise, like the wisdom of the angel of God, to know all that is in the earth.

Angels are obedient

Angels of the Lord are ministers of Gods will. They obey and execute the will and
plan of God.

Angels perform Gods word and will.

PS 103:20
Bless the LORD, you His angels,
Mighty in strength, who perform His word,
Obeying the voice of His word!
PS 103:21
Bless the LORD, all you His hosts,
You who serve Him, doing His will

Your kingdom come.

MT 6:10

Your will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

WORKS OF ANGELS

Angels visit believers

There are times when we meet strangers they may be angels. A message from the
Lord is send to us.

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained
HEB 13:2

angels without knowing it.

Angels keep our physical safety and well-being

As Gods children we are in His Kingdom. And His Kingdom is spiritual and the
spiritual manifests in the physical. There are things that happen in the spiritual that we do
not see through our bare eyes but these angels become our guardians.

Angels protect believers.

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him,
PS 34:7

And rescues them.

PS 91:9
For you have made the LORD, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
PS 91:10
No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.
PS 91:11

For He will give His angels charge concerning you,

To guard you in all your ways.
PS 91:12
They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
PS 91:13
You will tread upon the lion and cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.
PS 91:14

Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;

I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
PS 91:15
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
PS 91:16
With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.

Lot and family were taken out from Sodom and Gomorrah.

Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of
GE 19:1

Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the
ground.

11
GE 19:12
Then the two men said to Lot, Whom else have you here? A son-in-law, and your
sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place;
GE 19:13
for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great
before the LORD that the LORD has sent us to destroy it.
GE 19:14
Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and
said, Up, get out of this place, for the LORD will destroy the city. But he appeared to his
sons-in-law to be jesting.
GE 19:15
When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, Up, take your wife and your
two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.
GE 19:16
But he hesitated. So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands
of his two daughters, for the compassion of the LORD was upon him; and they brought him
out, and put him outside the city.
GE 19:17
When they had brought them outside, one said, Escape for your life! Do not look
behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be
swept away.

Isaac was delivered by the angel from all evil.

GE 48:14
But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Ephraim, who was
the younger, and his left hand on Manassehs head, crossing his hands, although Manasseh
was the firstborn.
GE 48:15
He blessed Joseph, and said,
The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked,
The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,
GE 48:16
The angel who has redeemed me from all evil,
Bless the lads;
And may my name live on in them,
And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac;
And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

An angel was sent to guard and lead Israel.

EX 14:18
Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through
Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen.
EX 14:19
The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went
behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.
EX 14:20
So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the
cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Thus the one did not come near the
other all night.
EX 14:21
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD swept the sea back
by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided.
EX 14:22
The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters
were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
EX 14:23
Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaohs horses, his chariots and his
horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea.
EX 14:24
At the morning watch, the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians through
the pillar of fire and cloud and brought the army of the Egyptians into confusion.

12
He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so
EX 14:25

the Egyptians said, Let us flee from Israel, for the LORD is fighting for them against the
Egyptians.

EX 23:20
Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to
bring you into the place which I have prepared.
EX 23:21
Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him,
for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him.
EX 23:22
But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your
enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
EX 23:23
For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the
Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely
destroy them.

An angel brought Israel out of Egypt.

NU 20:14
From Kadesh Moses then sent messengers to the king of Edom: Thus your brother
Israel has said, You know all the hardship that has befallen us;
NU 20:15
that our fathers went down to Egypt, and we stayed in Egypt a long time, and the
Egyptians treated us and our fathers badly.
NU 20:16
But when we cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice and sent an angel and
brought us out from Egypt; now behold, we are at Kadesh, a town on the edge of your
territory.

An angel fed Elijah for forty days.

1KI 19:3
And he was afraid and arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which
belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
1KI 19:4
But he himself went a days journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down
under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is
enough; now, O LORD, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.
1KI 19:5
He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching
him, and he said to him, Arise, eat.
1KI 19:6
Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones,
and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again.
1KI 19:7
The angel of the LORD came again a second time and touched him and said, Arise,
eat, because the journey is too great for you.
1KI 19:8
So he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and
forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.

An angel delivered Peter from prison.

AC 12:5
So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the
church to God.
AC 12:6
On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping
between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching
over the prison.

13
AC 12:11
When Peter came to himself, he said, Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent
forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people
were expecting.

Angels minister to heirs of salvation

Angels work with God and with those who shall receive inheritance from the Lord.
They may appear as humans, appear in visions and dreams and we receive the message of
the Lord. All messages do not contradict the good news of salvation in Christ alone. Angels
deliver us from dangers, enemies, troubles, unfortunate happenings and even accidents and
those who might seek our lives. They are there for our protection and deliverance.
Angels render service.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those
HEB 1:14

who will inherit salvation?

Angels guided Abraham and his descendants.

GE 24:7
The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my fathers house and from the
land of my birth, and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, To your descendants
I will give this land, He will send His angel before you, and you will take a wife for my son
from there.

An angel delivered Daniel from the mouth of the lions.

DA 6:19
Then the king arose at dawn, at the break of day, and went in haste to the lions den.
DA 6:20
When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The
king spoke and said to Daniel, Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you
constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?
DA 6:21
Then Daniel spoke to the king, O king, live forever!
DA 6:22
My God sent His angel and shut the lions mouths and they have not harmed me,
inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have
committed no crime.

14
An angel guided Joseph to flee to Egypt and back to Israel.

MT 2:13
Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream
and said, Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I
tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him.

MT 2:19
But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in
Egypt, and said,
MT 2:20
Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who
sought the Childs life are dead.

An angel took out Peter and the apostles.

AC 5:17
But the high priest rose up, along with all his associates (that is the sect of the
Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy.
AC 5:18
They laid hands on the apostles and put them in a public jail.
AC 5:19
But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the gates of the prison, and taking
them out he said,
AC 5:20
Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life.

An angel confirmed Cornelius prayer heard by God and gave direction.

AC 10:1
Now there was a man at Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called
the Italian cohort,
AC 10:2
a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to
the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.
AC 10:3
About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had
just come in and said to him, Cornelius!
AC 10:4
And fixing his gaze on him and being much alarmed, he said, What is it, Lord? And
he said to him, Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God.
AC 10:5
Now dispatch some men to Joppa and send for a man named Simon, who is also
called Peter;

Angels direct and impart Gods will

Angels are ministers and messengers of God. They direct and impart His will. Usually
when an angel appears with a message from God, it is God who is speaking. His words are
heard for the direction and impartation of His will. The presence of the Lord is present when
angels appear.

And of the angels He says,

HEB 1:7

WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS,

AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.

15
An angel assured Hagars son of the blessing.

GE 21:14
So Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave
them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away.
And she departed and wandered about in the wilderness of Beersheba.
GE 21:15
When the water in the skin was used up, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
GE 21:16
Then she went and sat down opposite him, about a bowshot away, for she said, Do
not let me see the boy die. And she sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice and wept.
GE 21:17
God heard the lad crying; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said
to her, What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the
lad where he is.
GE 21:18
Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of
him.
GE 21:19
Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the
skin with water and gave the lad a drink.
GE 21:20
God was with the lad, and he grew; and he lived in the wilderness and became an
archer.

An angel stopped Abraham from offering Isaac and God promised the blessing.

GE 22:7
Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father! And he said, Here I am, my
son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt
offering?
GE 22:8
Abraham said, God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.
So the two of them walked on together.
GE 22:9
Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar
there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of
the wood.
GE 22:10
Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
GE 22:11
But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham!
And he said, Here I am.
GE 22:12
He said, Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for
now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from
Me.
GE 22:13
Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in
the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a
burnt offering in the place of his son.
GE 22:14
Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this
day, In the mount of the LORD it will be provided.
GE 22:15
Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven,
GE 22:16
and said, By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this
thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,
GE 22:17
indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of
the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate
of their enemies.
GE 22:18
In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed
My voice.

16
An angel appeared to Moses and God said He shall deliver His people so that they can
worship Him and bring them to the promise land.

EX 3:6
He said also, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and
the God of Jacob. Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
EX 3:7
The LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and
have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their
sufferings.
EX 3:8
So I have come down to deliver them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring
them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey,
to the place of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the
Hivite and the Jebusite.
EX 3:9
Now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen
the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

An angel showed Zechariah that God shall deliver Israel back to her land.

ZEC 1:8
I saw at night, and behold, a man was riding on a red horse, and he was standing
among the myrtle trees which were in the ravine, with red, sorrel and white horses behind
him.
ZEC 1:9
Then I said, My lord, what are these? And the angel who was speaking with me said
to me, I will show you what these are.
ZEC 1:10
And the man who was standing among the myrtle trees answered and said, These
are those whom the LORD has sent to patrol the earth.
ZEC 1:11
So they answered the angel of the LORD who was standing among the myrtle trees
and said, We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth is peaceful and quiet.
ZEC 1:12
Then the angel of the LORD said, O LORD of hosts, how long will You have no
compassion for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which You have been indignant these
seventy years?
ZEC 1:13
The LORD answered the angel who was speaking with me with gracious words,
comforting words.
ZEC 1:14
So the angel who was speaking with me said to me, Proclaim, saying, Thus says the
LORD of hosts, I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion.
ZEC 1:15
But I am very angry with the nations who are at ease; for while I was only a little
angry, they furthered the disaster.
ZEC 1:16
Therefore thus says the LORD, I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My
house will be built in it, declares the LORD of hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched
over Jerusalem.
ZEC 1:17
Again, proclaim, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts, My cities will
again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and again choose
Jerusalem.

17
An angel appeared in a dream to Joseph to take Mary his wife and that she shall give birth
to Jesus.

MT 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been
betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy
Spirit.
MT 1:19
And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her,
planned to send her away secretly.
MT 1:20
But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a
dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the
Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
MT 1:21
She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will
save His people from their sins.

Angel Gabriel announced the virgin birth of the Son of God.

LK 1:26
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called
Nazareth,
LK 1:27
to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David;
and the virgins name was Mary.
LK 1:28
And coming in, he said to her, Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.
LK 1:29
But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of
salutation this was.
LK 1:30
The angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.
LK 1:31
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him
Jesus.
LK 1:32
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will
give Him the throne of His father David;
LK 1:33
and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.
LK 1:34
Mary said to the angel, How can this be, since I am a virgin?
LK 1:35
The angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the
power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be
called the Son of God.

Angels appeared to the shepherds and announced the birth of the Savior.

LK 2:8
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping
watch over their flock by night.
LK 2:9
And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone
around them; and they were terribly frightened.
LK 2:10
But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of
great joy which will be for all the people;
LK 2:11
for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the
Lord.
LK 2:12
This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a
manger.
LK 2:13
And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising
God and saying,
LK 2:14
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.

18
When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying
LK 2:15

to one another, Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened
which the Lord has made known to us.

An angel announced Jesus has risen and they shall meet Him.

MT 28:1
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary
Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.
MT 28:2
And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended
from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
MT 28:3
And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
MT 28:4
The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.
MT 28:5
The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for
Jesus who has been crucified.
MT 28:6
He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was
lying.
MT 28:7
Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is
going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.
MT 28:8
And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His
disciples.
MT 28:9
And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of
His feet and worshiped Him.

An angel guided Philip where to share the good news and the Spirit spoke to him

AC 8:25
So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started
back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.
AC 8:26
But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, Get up and go south to the road that
descends from Jerusalem to Gaza. ( This is a desert road.)
AC 8:27
So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of
Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come
to Jerusalem to worship,
AC 8:28
and he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
AC 8:29
Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go up and join this chariot.

An angel of the Lord stood by Paul and the Lord was there.

AC 27:23
For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood
before me,
AC 27:24
saying, Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has
granted you all those who are sailing with you.

Angels observe

Angels know the plans of God to man for God sends them for the fulfillment of His
purposes. They observe man and the specially the believers. They knew Christs coming into
the earth for us. They rejoice in heaven whenever a sinner repents.

Gods servants are displayed before angels.

For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death;
1CO 4:9

because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.

The manifold wisdom of God is made known to the angels.

EPH 3:8
To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the
unfathomable riches of Christ,
EPH 3:9
and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has
been hidden in God who created all things;
EPH 3:10
so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to
the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.
EPH 3:11
This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus
our Lord,

Angels rejoice in heaven over a sinner who repents.

LK 15:6
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to
them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!
LK 15:7
I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who
repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Jesus shall deny those who deny Him before God and the angels.

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of
LK 9:26

him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
We are commanded in Gods presence and His angels

1TI 5:20
Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be
fearful of sinning.
1TI 5:21
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen
angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality.

Angels looked into the fulfillment of Christs suffering and its glory.

1PE 1:10
As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to
you made careful searches and inquiries,
1PE 1:11
seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating
as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

20
It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these
1PE 1:12

things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to
you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaventhings into which angels long to look.

Angels witnessed the coming of the Son of God into the world.

By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness:

1TI 3:16

He who was revealed in the flesh,

Was vindicated in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Proclaimed among the nations,
Believed on in the world,
Taken up in glory.

And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,
HEB 1:6

AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.

Angels battle for us

We are Gods people. We are in Gods Kingdom. Satan the enemy is alive and
working with all forces of darkness and evil. We do not fight with our flesh and blood but
with spiritual forces. We have Gods angels on our side fulfilling the will of God in us. They
are commanded and sent by God for our deliverance and victories. When we pray we have
all the angels on our side battling and waging wars against the rulers of darkness that
hinder our prayers and petitions. And when we are in a present danger they are there to
deliver us from our enemies.

Angels of the Lord go for us.

PS 35:1
Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me;
Fight against those who fight against me.
PS 35:2
Take hold of buckler and shield
And rise up for my help.
PS 35:3
Draw also the spear and the battle-axe to meet those who pursue me;
Say to my soul, I am your salvation.
PS 35:4
Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life;
Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.
PS 35:5
Let them be like chaff before the wind,
With the angel of the LORD driving them on.
PS 35:6
Let their way be dark and slippery,
With the angel of the LORD pursuing them.
PS 35:7
For without cause they hid their net for me;
Without cause they dug a pit for my soul.
PS 35:8
Let destruction come upon him unawares,
And let the net which he hid catch himself;
Into that very destruction let him fall.

21
Prophet Elisha was with horses and chariots of fire from the Lord when the armies of king of
Aram surrounded his place.

2KI 6:11
Now the heart of the king of Aram was enraged over this thing; and he called his
servants and said to them, Will you tell me which of us is for the king of Israel?
2KI 6:12
One of his servants said, No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in
Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.
2KI 6:13
So he said, Go and see where he is, that I may send and take him. And it was told
him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
2KI 6:14
He sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and
surrounded the city.
2KI 6:15
Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an
army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, Alas, my
master! What shall we do?
2KI 6:16
So he answered, Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are
with them.
2KI 6:17
Then Elisha prayed and said, O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see. And
the LORD opened the servants eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of
horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Hezekiah prayed for Gods deliverance and an angel destroyed the Assyrian camp.

2KI 19:20
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah saying, Thus says the LORD, the God
of Israel, Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard
you.
2KI 19:21
This is the word that the LORD has spoken against him:
She has despised you and mocked you,
The virgin daughter of Zion;
She has shaken her head behind you,
The daughter of Jerusalem!

22
The angel of Gods presence delivered His people.

ISA 63:7

I shall make mention of the lovingkindnesses of the LORD,

the praises of the LORD,
According to all that the LORD has granted us,
And the great goodness toward the house of Israel,
Which He has granted them according to His compassion
And according to the abundance of His lovingkindnesses.
ISA 63:8
For He said, Surely, they are My people,
Sons who will not deal falsely.
So He became their Savior.
ISA 63:9
In all their affliction He was afflicted,
And the angel of His presence saved them;
In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them,
And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

Daniels prayer and petition was heard and answered as Gods angels battled in the spirit.

DA 10:10
Then behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.
DA 10:11
He said to me, O Daniel, man of high esteem, understand the words that I am about
to tell you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you. And when he had spoken
this word to me, I stood up trembling.
DA 10:12
Then he said to me, Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your
heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were
heard, and I have come in response to your words.
DA 10:13
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days;
then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there
with the kings of Persia.
DA 10:14
Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people
in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future.
DA 10:15
When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the
ground and became speechless.
DA 10:16
And behold, one who resembled a human being was touching my lips; then I opened
my mouth and spoke and said to him who was standing before me, O my lord, as a result
of the vision anguish has come upon me, and I have retained no strength.
DA 10:17
For how can such a servant of my lord talk with such as my lord? As for me, there
remains just now no strength in me, nor has any breath been left in me.
DA 10:18
Then this one with human appearance touched me again and strengthened me.
DA 10:19
He said, O man of high esteem, do not be afraid. Peace be with you; take courage
and be courageous! Now as soon as he spoke to me, I received strength and said, May my
lord speak, for you have strengthened me.
DA 10:20
Then he said, Do you understand why I came to you? But I shall now return to fight
against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about
to come.
DA 10:21
However, I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. Yet there is no one
who stands firmly with me against these forces except Michael your prince.

23
Angels execute Gods judgment

God brings judgment to earth through His angels.

Angels were sent to deliver Lot and destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.

Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of
GE 19:1

Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the
ground.

GE 19:11
They struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both
small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.
GE 19:12
Then the two men said to Lot, Whom else have you here? A son-in-law, and your
sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place;
GE 19:13
for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great
before the LORD that the LORD has sent us to destroy it.

GE 19:24
Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD
out of heaven,
GE 19:25
and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities,
and what grew on the ground.

An angel of the Lord killed all the first born of Egypt.

EX 12:23
For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood
on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow
the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.
EX 12:24
And you shall observe this event as an ordinance for you and your children forever.
EX 12:25
When you enter the land which the LORD will give you, as He has promised, you
shall observe this rite.
EX 12:26
And when your children say to you, What does this rite mean to you?
EX 12:27
you shall say, It is a Passover sacrifice to the LORD who passed over the houses of
the sons of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians, but spared our homes. And the
people bowed low and worshiped.
EX 12:28
Then the sons of Israel went and did so; just as the LORD had commanded Moses
and Aaron, so they did.
EX 12:29
Now it came about at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of
Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive
who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle.

24
An angel destroyed 70,000 men of Israel when David sinned.

2SA 24:15
So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning until the appointed
time, and seventy thousand men of the people from Dan to Beersheba died.
2SA 24:16
When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD
relented from the calamity and said to the angel who destroyed the people, It is enough!
Now relax your hand! And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Araunah the
Jebusite.
2SA 24:17
Then David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who was striking down the
people, and said, Behold, it is I who have sinned, and it is I who have done wrong; but
these sheep, what have they done? Please let Your hand be against me and against my
fathers house.

An angel struck Herod when he did not give glory to God.

AC 12:20
Now he was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; and with one accord they
came to him, and having won over Blastus the kings chamberlain, they were asking for
peace, because their country was fed by the kings country.
AC 12:21
On an appointed day Herod, having put on his royal apparel, took his seat on the
rostrum and began delivering an address to them.
AC 12:22
The people kept crying out, The voice of a god and not of a man!
AC 12:23
And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the
glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

An angel killed 23,000 from Israel when they sinned, committed idolatry, tried and
grumbled against God.

1CO 10:7
Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, THE PEOPLE SAT DOWN
TO EAT AND DRINK, AND STOOD UP TO PLAY.
1CO 10:8
Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one
day.
1CO 10:9
Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents.
1CO 10:10
Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
1CO 10:11
Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our
instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

25
Angels will accompany Christ at His coming

When the Lord comes again He shall be accompanied by His numerous mighty
angels. We can see all the glory, honor and power of the revelation of the Son of God. He
shall execute judgments on earth. He shall destroy the wicked. Put an end to evil. And His
angels with Him are given the command to bring judgment on earth and bring and gather
His saints to the Lord.

Christ comes in His glory with His angels.

For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and
MT 16:27

WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS.

MT 24:29
But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED,
AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and
the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
MT 24:30
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of
the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE
SKY with power and great glory.
MT 24:31
And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER
TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

MT 25:31
But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He
will sit on His glorious throne.
MT 25:32
All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one
another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

He shall execute judgments with His angels.

2TH 1:7
and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will
be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,
2TH 1:8
dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey
the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
2TH 1:9
These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord
and from the glory of His power,
2TH 1:10
when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at
among all who have believedfor our testimony to you was believed.

MT 13:41
The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom
all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,

So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the
