HYDROTHERMAL SYNTHESIS OF BiVO4 NANOPARTICLES

1) Combine 97 mg Bi(NO3)3 5H2O and 18 mg V2O5 in water. Place in a sonicator bath for 10 minutes. 2) Place 1 g K2SO4 into the Teflon lining of a 15-mL capacity stainless steel autoclave. 3) Fill the Teflon lining of the autoclave to 10 mL with the Bi(NO3)3 - V2O5 mixture. 4) Place the autoclave into a reaction oven at 220 C for 24 hrs. 5) After this time, allow reaction mixture to cool to room temperature. 6) After cooling, subject the reaction mixture to centrifugation to collect product. 7) Wash product several times with water, then allow to dry in air at 80 C.
