April/May Reading Contract

Name __________________________ Minimum requirements for all students: 1. All students must read at least 4 books by May 11th. Every 25 pages in a chapter book counts as 1 book. Every picture book counts as 1 book. So if you read a Junie B. Jones, which may have 112 pages, that would count as 4 books. If your book has 143 pages, that will count as 6 books. These can be books that are read to you, that you read in bus duty, read to a younger or older sibling, or read independently. I want you to be excited about books. If you are capable of reading more, be sure to record those pages too. 2. You have 2 activities for April and May. a. Earn at least two AR points from a book on your level AND b. Read a book of your choice, on your level, and design a book jacket for your book using the attached directions.
