Academic Discount

Plug-in licenses must be used in conjunction with another product. CTRAN/W requires SEEP/W or VADOSE/W; AIR/W requires SEEP/W. Bundles allow multiple products to be used concurrently by a single user: Basic limited-feature bundled license includes SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, QUAKE/W, TEMP/W, CTRAN/W, AIR/W and VADOSE/W Standard includes SLOPE/W, SEEP/W and SIGMA/W Professional includes SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, QUAKE/W, TEMP/W and CTRAN/W Universal includes SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, QUAKE/W, TEMP/W, CTRAN/W, AIR/W and VADOSE/W Special introductory offer: purchase a new perpetual license by August 31st, 2012, and receive one year of maintenance for no additional cost.

Special introductory offers: upgrade a GeoStudio 2007 perpetual license by August 31st, 2012 for the price of a year of maintenance. Upgrade older licenses for the prices listed, which include a year of maintenance. Beginning on September 1st, the maintenance portion of upgrade costs will increase by 1/12th of the annual maintenance fee each month, pro-rated back to March 2012, to a maximum of 80% of the cost of a new license. For example, on September 1st a SLOPE/W upgrade will cost an additional $450 ($900 12 6 months), and will increase by $75 ($900 12) each month thereafter.

LICENSE OPTIONS

Our licensing options are designed to make it easier to use our products, no matter how big or small your needs. Products are sold as concurrent use licenses. The software can be installed on as many computers as you would like. The number of simultaneous users of the software is restricted by the number of licenses purchased.

Standalone or Network

A standalone license is installed on an individual desktop or laptop computer. It can be deactivated from one computer and reactivated on another (with certain restrictions). Licenses upgraded from GeoStudio 2007 or older can be tied to a USB key instead of using activation, or the key can be exchanged for an activation license. A network license is installed on a network license server, and is available to anyone on the LAN or WAN. Our network licenses use FlexNet license management. Detachable licenses are an optional feature made available upon request. Contact us for details.

Perpetual or Subscription

A perpetual license entitles you to use the software indefinitely. The license file itself typically expires every year, but is renewed automatically and at no additional cost to you. By purchasing the optional annual maintenance, you also get access to the latest software releases and basic engineering support. A subscription license entitles you to use the latest software version and receive licensing, installation and basic engineering support only during the subscription period. When the subscription expires, the software will no longer function.

Annual Maintenance

Maintenance can optionally be purchased for a perpetual license to gain access to new releases and additional support. Provides access to the latest software releases, licensing & installation support, and basic engineering support. If maintenance expires, the software will continue to function but future updates and bug fixes will not be available. Licensing & installation support will continue to be provided, but engineering support will only be available for an additional fee. Lapsed maintenance can be reactivated by paying the annual fees that were missed, to a maximum of 80% of the new license price.

Individual or Bundled

All GeoStudio software products can be purchased individually. These are known as individual product licenses. Bundled product licenses combine several products into a single license, allowing one user to access more than one product.

Full Feature or Limited Feature

Full feature licenses allow access to every feature of the licensed software. We also offer several limited feature licenses, which have certain restrictions: The Basic Edition includes all eight GeoStudio products with certain feature restrictions but still suitable for consulting use. The free Student Edition includes all eight products with enough features to do simple geotechnical analyses for learning purposes. The free Viewer license allows opening others files but with no ability to make changes.

SUPPORT OPTIONS
Installation and licensing support are provided free of charge for up to five years after the software has been released. Basic engineering support is provided on the latest version under Annual Maintenance. Modeling services are available at hourly consulting rates. Older versions of the software are not guaranteed to run on upgraded computer hardware and operating systems.
