Speech of Welcome Your Excellency Prime Minister, Your Excellency Chinas Ambassador to Indonesia Mr.

Zhang Qiyue Ladies and Gentlemen, On this December occasion of Your Excellencys visit to UNNES (Semarang State University) allow me first of all, on behalf of all my associates in this firm, extend a most cordial welcome to you and your party to our facilities in Semarang. As Your Excellency so graciously acknowledged in Your Excellencys address at the State Dinner in The Presidential Palace Tuesday, Indonesia embarked on the acceleration of the acquisition and application of environment conservation to minimize global warming several years ago. What will be our honor and pleasure to Your Excellency and Your distinguished companion during these short hours is only a small part of the results of the efforts of the Indonesian people to preserve environment. UNNES declare itself as Conservation University several months ago. UNNES set its heart on creating qualified students in its educational aim. Beside that UNNES also pay more attention to the environment deal with global warming issue. It is difficult to preserve the environment nowadays since the global warming has been endangered our earth. In addition, people do not aware of it and still do such activities which can deteriorate our environment. For examples are industrial activities without filtering the gas emission, using plastic for packaging goods that cannot be recycled, etc. Indonesia actually aware about that phenomena and UNNES as a part of Indonesia declare itself as Conservation University with a view to preserve our environment by a spirit of conservation. We are deeply aware of the difficulties of this great task.

We cannot imagine if our environment deteriorate day by day. We will remain nothing for our next generation but painful. Every nation compete each other to be a great nation in this world which has strongly economic power by doing such economic activities such as industrial activities, etc. Unfortunately, they do not pay more attention about environment and start to realize the impact of their activities after global warming come up. We are convince that even though the industrial activities develop rapidly and bring positive development through economic which every nation expected, environment must be number one above all. We belief there are no good development for all human activities in the world if the condition of this world is in riot and deterioration. We are convinced; however, that nobody even no-country can escape it if it is true to everybody who set his heart on to be exist characterized by his ability to preserve his world and to conserve his environment. We recognize that in this vast endeavor everybody must be well-cooperated each other. This cooperation may include people among countries. Excellency, Woe regard Your Excellencys visit to our firm as a great honor to Indonesian nation and as a signal of Chinas recognition of, and interest in, the people all of us engaged in the effort to accelerate the application of preserving our environment by the spirit of conservation. Although we are afraid that the shortness of the time allowed you on this occasion will not permit Your Excellency and your party to view all of our thirty hectare complex today, we sincerely hope that this visit will mark the commencement between our two countries generally, and in particular in the field of social and environment.
