Mumbai Air

I was talking to my mother this morning. She was telling me that one famous doctor in my locality
recently went to commit suicide. Apparently, he does not have any problem whatsoever. God was
gracious and he was saved.

Now the way we are increasing pollution all round , are we not committing suicide ourselves ?
The air pollution is so high in Mumbai now that you don't need to read any report to appreciate that.
Four years back the dust pollution was not so high as it is today. We never required ceiling fan to run
during December and this December we have been running AC also. There is not even the faintest sign
of winter here. An hour drive on the western express highway will cause severe irritation in eye. The
most affected place is near Andheri to Bandra.

Of course sitting in an AC car you can partly make fool of the pollution. But how long ?. The moment
you open your car the poison enters into your car and you continuously go on inhaling it till the last
particle gets lodged in your body.....

Already in the places like Chhattisgarh , Madhya Pradesh and WestBengal the severity of winter is
greatly reduced. These places are always remain covered with a thick brown smoke . The mornings are
gloomy and the evening starts early due to lack of sufficient sunlight. The sun light gets blocked by this
thick polluting smoke. The winter blues are increasing and the Seasonal Affected Disorder are
increasing alarmingly in these areas.

But Mumbai ,definitely has got more advantages compared to these places. Mumbai has more hills ,
rivers , lakes and a big Sea shore to wash away all the polluting smokes. But despite all these
advantages the air pollutions are alarmingly increasing. I remember ten years back Delhi has the same
kind of atmosphere. Walking on the streets near New Delhi station , Houz khwas was causing severe
irritation to eye. The same is happening now on the Western Express highway despite all the autos and
the taxies are running on CNG.

So what next ?
Are we consciously going to die slowly but surely by these polluting air or like the great homo sepians
we wake up to the situation and do something amazing to reverse the situation.

Government is not going to help because they are full of blind and selfish politicians. They will
encourage TATA to produce 'NANO' car but never 'NANO BUS' so that the mumbai streets one day
will be full of beautiful NANO bus , cheap and efficient public transport system.

The revenue produced by a car is always much more than a bus so TATA will always be pampered for
NANO car.

So we are left on our own to decide ?
