Objectives of survey:

To know which tea & ice cream brand is more popular and favorite among the student of university of Wah. To find out the reasons, that prefers the one product on the other. To make comparison of two product of the same industry, by means of quality and consumption. To have suggestions by the consumer, to improve the quality of product.

Supreme VS Lipton

TEA Abstracts:
Today, tea is drunk by almost half of the world's population. Tea is undoubtedly the national drink of Pakistan. Tea is an aromatic stimulant, containing various polyphonic, essential oils and caffeine. The concentration of caffeine in tea ranges from 2.5% to 4.5% and it is this caffeine content that makes tea a useful stimulant. Tea is the beverage made when the processed leaves of the tea plant are infused with boiling water. It has more consumption than any other type of drink available in the market today. It is estimated that Pakistanis consume over 130 million kg of tea worth over 4 billion rupees every year. Despite the increasing emphasis on its hazardous effects on health and the continuously rising prices, due to the low literacy rate and unavailability of a better substitute, the demand and the

consumption has increased over the years and is growing at an annual rate of 6%.

ANALYSIS:

It is noticed in survey that 30% of the students of University of Wah use or prefer SUPREME and 70% use and prefer LIPTON. It proves that Lipton is market leader and it has 70% market share in the branded tea. REASONS for, why people use Lipton more than Supreme:

QUALITY:
Both, Lipton and Supreme are providing good quality of tea. But Lipton provides better quality as compared with pupreme.quality involves:

Taste:
Most of the consumers of Supreme rank the taste of tea as superb and fewer as excellent or good. Where the consumers of Lipton rank it as good and fewer as excellent. This shows that:

Consumers of supreme are more loyal and more satisfied with its taste than the consumers of Lipton. Supreme has less chances of shift because of its consumer than the consumers of Lipton.

It has been found in the survey that consumers of Lipton rank it more potent and more strong than Supreme and vise versa..In the same way consumers of Supreme use tea habitually or to reduce the fatigue where as the consumers of Lipton take the tea to enjoy. it shows that supreme is more potent and more strong than Lipton .potent products makes the person to some extent and than they become habitual. But it should not be un-healthy addiction. Health care rules must be followed, Lipton can increase the quality of its taste, by making it

stronger and a bit more potent so it can reduce fatigue and relax the tense nerves by its pathological action. Survey also shows that people do feel difference in taste of these two tea brands. it indicates that both tea brands of the same firm shows significant difference.

Packing:

Although Lipton and Supreme are the tea brands of the same CO. and have almost same packing quality but during survey it has been noticed that consumers(students of University of Wah) are still not satisfied with packing quality either they are using Supreme or Lipton.they want more improved packing quality.

Packing is the sensitive case for tea brands and it should be done very carefully. As tea looses its fragrance and colour with exposure to the air. mostly student complained that Lipton and supreme tea reduces its colour and fragrance once it pack has opened. Jars were introduced to overcome on this problem and jars covered the problem to some extent but not completely.it should be improved more to fully meet the need of customers and consumers.

Most of the students are satisfied with packing colures of the brands of both Lipton and Supreme. The consumers of Lipton are satisfied with yellow label. The consumers of Supreme are satisfied with red label.

But it has also seen in the survey that few consumers of Supreme like the yellow label. such consumers suggests for supreme to change the colour of its pack. They believe that dark red colour dont attract the customers of tea, more than yellow label.

Color:
Lipton offers light shades of yellow and off white while supreme gives reddish or black color according to amount of tea used. People mostly like light red color especially after the concept of red-tea.it now increasing the demand of red colour in tea. First there was black tea, then green tea and white tea. But the newest tea on super market shelves is red tea. So brands should offer red tea. Red colour is usually associated with supreme, where as lipton gives off white and yellow color in tea.

Advertisement:
Both the brands have good advertisement campaigns, e.g ads, hoadings and sign boards. Consumers of lipton are attracted towards lipton advertisements and Supreme consumers like the ads of Supreme. Supreme slogan (Yehi tou hai wo apna pan) shows sincerity and gives the sense of family oriented product. Lipton slogan (Lipton hi tou hai Hmmmm Lajawab) also like by the lipton consumers, it is totally product oriented slogan. Now lipton has changed its slogan after relaunching i.e Lipton se hai mind mera

clear.. which shows products concern for consumers.

Supreme ads are more attractive than that of lipton, Supreme ads always shows a family with tea and are more repeated on t.v channels. Lipton needs to increase it advertisement to remain a market leader and to maintain its position.

Product Personality:

The consumers of supreme associate the emotion of reliability with brand it may be because of tea brands are being used from generation to generation. The tea brand were used by the parents and grandparents and then their children continue using that brand. This is the reason for supremes major share in Punjab and rural areas as these areas are gives high importance to the reliability and sincerity.

The consumers of lipton also rank the emotion associated with the product is Reliable and fewer rank as Excitement. The element of excitement is because of relaunch of lipton that focuses on clarity of mind.

Conclusion:

Supreme can get a large market share by making small improvements in the product.. People are responding positively towards tea brands. Lipton is having high market share then Supreme.
