What is the study all about? Provide some statistical figures about the study. What is motivating the researchers to pursue the study? Provide personal experiences of the researchers about the topic. Relate the present study to previous studies in a general manner. Provide justification of the conduct of the present study.

Statement of the Problem This study aims to . . . . (state the general objective of the study). Specifically, this study seeks answers to the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of: 1.1 1.2 1.3, etc. 2. What is . . . of the respondents in terms of: 2.1 2.2 2.3, etc. 3. What is . . . etc. 4. Is there a significant relationship between ___ and ___? 5. Is there a significant relationship between ___ and ___?, etc. 6. Is there a significant difference between ___ and ___?, etc. 7. Is there a significant difference in the ___ of the respondents when grouped according to profile variables? 8. Based on the result of the study, what possible output on ___ can be developed?
Note: The statement of the problems (SOP) in green color refers to descriptive questions (this will apply Descriptive Statistics). The SOP in orange color refers to inferential questions (this will apply Inferential Statistics). Lastly, the SOP in blue color refers to the possible output of the study.

Hypothesis/ses: At the 0.05 level of significance, the following null hypothesis/ses will be tested: 1. 2. 3., etc.
Note: The number of null hypothesis will depend on the number of SOPs in the inferential category.

Significance of the Study It is hoped that the following groups of individuals may benefit from the result of the study: Nursing Students: Pre-Operative Patients: Significant Others: Nurses: Hospital Administrators:, etc.
Note: The discussion of the significance for each group of individuals should answer the questions: what is the benefit? How should the individuals be benefited? Why should they be benefited?

Scope and Limitation The study aims to . . . (the first paragraph refers to the scope of the study which answers the questions: what is the main objective? Who will be the respondents? Where will it be conducted? When? How?). The study is limited to . . . (the second paragraph refers to the limitation or constraint
of the study).
