The Quidway S3000 Series Intelligent Switch can be applied in the convergence layer in enterprise networks and campus networks. It is able to meet full enterprise network and campus network requirements from 1000M backbone to 10/100M desktop application. Using the long-haul/ultra longhaul optical fiber, S3000 series can be connected to the L3 convergence switch (e.g. Quidway S5516) via the GE link. Its uplink bandwidth can be improved by use of the GE trunk interface and configured diverse VLAN and route for different requirements.

he Quidway S3000 series intelligent switches are L2 wire-speed Ethernet switches which fully meet the needs for secure large-capacity switching and high QoS requirements. The system adopts high-performance ASIC and uses a flexible module structure to provide intelligent L2~L7 flow classification, complete QoS, implementing comprehensive service control and subscriber management. It can be used as an access layer switch that focuses on service control and management and network security guarantee in enterprise networks and MANs. The following models used in the access layer of enterprise networks and MANs, are included in this series switches: S3026C, S3026G, S3026T, S3026C-PWR and S3050C. The S3000 series switches provide gigabit uplink interfaces and powerful QoS capabilities to adapt to the access requirements of multiple services.

Application in MANs
Quidway S3000 Series Intelligent Switch can be used as access or aggregation layer switch in this wide bandwidth WAN. It can be connected with MA5200 through the uplink 100M port through single or multi mode fiber. Therefore, the core of the network could be reachable through the high speed uplink port on MA5200. Many desktop users can be connected to MA5200 through S3026C/G/T. MA5200+ S3026C/G/T have functions such as user management, AAA, etc, which can provide an economic and high carriers capacity solution, which is quite suitable for the new residential area or other business applications.

The Quidway S3000 series intelligent L2 switch supports 802.1x authentications and identifies users in their access to the network. It supports flexible binding of MAC address, IP address, VLAN and port to prevent illegal users from accessing the network. It also supports multiple ACL policies to set users rights for accessing network resources and thus guarantees the controlled access to network resources.

Diversified Management Modes

Quidway S3000 series intelligent L2 switch can support SNMP, OpenView versatile network platform and Quidview NM system. It also supports CLI, Web network management, Telnet, HGMP to facilitate the equipment management.

Abundant QoS Policies

The Quidway S3000 series intelligent L2 switch supports the L2~L7 complicated flow classification based on source/destination MAC address, source/destination IP address, port and protocol. It also provides three queue dispatching algorithms, which are Strict-Priority Queue (PQ), Weighted Round Robin (WRR) and Delay bounded WRR. It supports Committed Access Rate (CAR) and the traffic granularity is 1Mbit/s.

High Reliability
The Quidway S3000 series intelligent L2 switch supports STP/RSTP (Spanning Tree Protocol/Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) as well as the MSTP based on multiple VLANs. Thus the redundancy back-up and error tolerance capability of the link can be greatly improved to guarantee the network stability. It supports the optional Redundant Power System (RPS). 1
