MISSION
To play the role of facilitator for the benefit of the public without distinction of caste or community, sect or religion, class or creed in the fields of education, community health and promotion of social and economic welfare and uplift of the people in general .

GENESIS OF ADANI FOUNDATION

Adani Foundation was established in May 1996. Situated in Ahmedabad, it is a part of the prestigious Adani Group and looks after the Corporate Social Responsibility related activities of the Group, which has now become synonymous with creating wealth for the people. We began in a small way by working with a few rural communities around our Port at Mundra. Through its grant, the Foundation supports efforts in the development of society, in areas of Sustainable Livelihoods, Education, and Health. Besides institutional grants, the Foundation also makes individual grants for education and medical relief. The Foundation is registered as a NGO and operates in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh & Maharashtra. Its major programs are in Kutch & Ahmedabad. This year, it expanded to Maharashtra & Himachal Pradesh. The Foundation is active in Four major areas for all sections of the society:

1)Education 2)Community Health 3)Sustainable Livelihood 4)Rural Infrastrure Development

Present scenario Adani Foundation has made a lot of progress and still aiming to expand in other state as well. Their main focuses as mentioned earlier are Community health, Education, Sustainable livelihood and Rural Infrastructure Development. The foundation has achieved and has been successful in all the four segments .The achievement in each are as follows 1) EDUCATION Adani Foundation has been in the forefront of education sector since its inception. The approach is multi pronged Through Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) , Govt . of Indias flagship programme for achievement of Universalization of Elementary Education in a time bound manner, as mandated by 86th Amendment to the Constitution of India making free and compulsory Education to the Children of 6-14 years age group, a Fundamental Right. We support this notion and help bridge gaps in the Govt.Education System. 2) HEALTH : The broad objectives of the health programme adhere to Governments approach. It aims to improve the reproductive health and nutritional status of adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers and children under 2 with a view toward increasing the child survival rate and reducing malnutrition through immunization, pre-natal care, neo-natal care, and dietary supplements.

MOBILE DISPENSARY Progress so far Setting and managing mobile dispensaries in Mundra-Kutch and Shimla district. These dispensaries treat an average of 3000 patients every month. Organising general health camps. Organising specialist health camps, gynaec, paediatrics, ENT etc. Setting up stationery health clinics in villages.

2) SUSTAINABLE LIVELYHOOD: Adani Foundation has a vision to improve Quality of life of communities it works with. With an objective of overall development of the people of the region, efforts are being made to facilitate them in their occupation which is mainly agriculture and animal husbandry and develop their skills by providing them skill based trainings, undertaking individual and group Income Generation Activities and Village Institution Development .

RURAL SUPPORT: Partnership with UNICEF NABARD and WASMO for better services 3) RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT:

Adani foundations main concern towards this is Water conservation .It follows this by

Sustainability - To ensure availability for future generations, the withdrawal of fresh water from an ecosystem should not exceed its natural replacement rate. Energy conservation - Water pumping, delivery, and waste water treatment facilities consume a significant amount of energy. Habitat conservation - Minimizing human water use helps to preserve fresh water habitats for local wildlife and migrating waterfowl, as well as reducing the need to build new dams and other water diversion infrastructure.

CONCLUSION : There are various other camps and facilities provided by the foundation which benefits the society. Adani is making a strong presence in the society by supporting it through its Adani Foundation. It will be expanding further more in various states wherever required inorder to serve the society right and to provide them with the basic necessity of food, education, shelter. It is fulfilling its objective as a corporate to be socially responsible towards the society and helping the people of our nation to prosper.
