The Greek pantheon on faceBook Assignment: While the gods of Greek mythology are long gone, that doesnt mean they wouldnt have totally been all over joining Facebook had it been around when they were. Frankly, their exploits wouldnt be that out of place in a modern-day high school! What better way for the gods to interact (and occasionally seduce, in some cases) the mortals than through the latest social networking platform? Your job, since youre more familiar with the technology, is to CREATE a Facebook-style profile for their version of Facebook (called Olympusbook). HOWEVER, since the gods tend to be picky, they want to see a paper version of what you plan to put on their profiles first. requirements: You and your partner will create a paper version of a Greek Gods Olympusbook profile (which are remarkably similar to Facebooks profiles). Once youve randomly selected a Greek god via Mrs. Mann, you will need to feature the following information on the profile. - Name AND nickname (Nickname being their Roman mythology equivalent) - Current Location - A status update at the top of the profile - a quote box (what would be something your god/goddess would say?) - 3 activities - Friends w/ 3 Greek gods/ goddesses that they have obvious ties to (as in, theyre mentioned in shared myths) - Parents and Siblings - Relationship Status (Who has the god/goddess been romantically linked to?) - Bio: 4 sentences minimum that reflect the personality of your god - Employers section (What is he/she the god of? - a COLOR profile picture (drawn or printed/copied at your own expense) - a sidebar ad for something you think your god/goddess would be interested in purchasing (be creative!)

Be sure to use the Olympusbook profile outline provided to gather and organize your information; its set up in the same format as the final profile poster! Then, you and your partner will need to TEACH the class about your god via his/her Olympusbook Profile information; specifically, youll need to teach the class the gods Roman name, what theyre the god/goddess of, who theyre related to and how theyre related, any romantic relationships of note, and 1 interesting fact about your god/goddess that you choose. Youll use your Olympusbook Poster as your visual aid. BOTH partners need to present the information; how you decide who presents what information is up to you!

- Brainstorm here for an ad for something you think your god/goddess would be interested in purchasing (be creative!). It should be related to the gods interests, and should have a slogan.
