2.1 The 1st Rider - Conquest Here is all the information the Bible provides us with about the 1 st rider:
White Horse Revelation 6:1-2 (NIV) I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come and see!" I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. Bible, New International Version
This rider is nicknamed Conquest because of the description about him. He is also referred to as White Horse or Rider on the White Horse because of the color of his horse.
This rider's hints: He held a bow. It comes with the job. The bow is already in his possession. He was given a crown. So when he starts his ride he is given this crown. It was not in his possession before. There is a Zodiac Sign called ARCHER which correspondents with exactly these features. He already has a bow because it comes with the job of being an archer and he is literally given a crown by a star constellation called Corona Australis. This star constellation is also known as "The Southern Crown". The Zodiac Sign of the ARCHER is always depicted as a being holding a bow and a crown somewhere at his side. He is mostly depicted as centaur a man/horse mixture. The Zodiac Sign is a real star constellation called SAGITTARIUS (latin for "archer"). This is the symbol of the Zodiac Sign:
So we can give the 1st Horseman of the Apocalypse the name SAGITTARIUS. He can ride in the time between November 23rd and December 21st. This timeframe is associated with the Zodiac Sign ARCHER. It is the 9h Zodiac Sign.

Picture: The 1st Horseman as depicted in the 11th century manuscript Bamberg Apocalypse
In this 11th century drawing the 1st Horseman is depicted riding from left to ride. From his right side is a creature in form of a brown horse with a cross halo around it's head giving him a crown. Corona Australis is on the right side of Sagittarius as you can see on the starmap on the picture on the following page. But that is not a nusual depiction. The crown is also displayed between the front legs of the centaur or even on his left side.

Picture: Another depiction of SAGITTARIUS gain with the crown to his feet
Finally I like to show one depiction taken out of a greater painting that displays all 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse. It is the painting Four Horseman of the Apokalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov that I used as title image of this book.

Here the rider is already wearing the crown on his head but take a closer look at the white horse.
Picture: Detail of white horse from Four Horseman of the Apokalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov
It is the animal that is depicted at the front of the scenario and his left front leg forms a bow. It is looking directly at the observer and does neither appear frightened or angry but neutral or in the know wants to say "I know something.". It swings it's head down so that it's mane flys up and forms symbolical sunbeams or the partial corona of a sun. Am I saying Victor Vanetsov was "in the know"? You have to decide that for yourself.

Red Horse Revelation 6:3-4 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come and see!" Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.
Bible, New International Version
This rider is nicknamed War because that is what his mission is. He is referred to as (Fiery) Red Horse or Rider on the (Fiery) Red Horse because of the color of his horse.
This rider's hints: To him was given a large sword. Note the difference to the 1st rider. There we read: "He was given a crown." The large sword is not given to him when he starts his ride. It is already in his possession and as the description implies: The large sword is a part of him. You will see that this difference is very important. The 3 rd rider is described as " holding a pair of scales in his hand". It is very clear that this rider has his tool like the 1 st rider in his hand. The 1st rider "held a bow". The 4th rider isn't described with any tool at all although he is mostly depicted with a scythe or sickle (which is a hint!). So the use of "He was given a large sword" and avoiding to mention that he held it or had it in his hands must mean something.
There is a Zodiac Sign called SCORPIO which correspondents with exactly these features. The scorpion is a living war machine. He carries 2 massive claws and his whole body is formed to end up in a huge tail having a (sometimes venomous) sting at his end. He is a large sword by design with 8 legs to walk on. SCORPIO is called SCORPIUS when referred to as a star constellation. This is the symbol of the Zodiac Sign:
So we can give the 2st Horseman of the Apocalypse the name SCORPIO. He can ride in the time between October 24nd and November 22nd. This timeframe is associated with the Zodiac Sign SCORPIO. It is the 8th Zodiac Sign.

Finally again one detail from the painting Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov.

Picture: Detail of red horse from Four Horseman of the Apokalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov
If you compare this to the other riders you will notice that the rider War is completely naked. Only his manhood is covered with a piece of cloth. Symbolically this rider is compared to the other riders naked = has no armour to put on. His skin is his only protection. His hair matches exactly the color of his horse. Symbolically it connects the man with the animal (him being powerful like an animal or even him being an animal). The scorpion doesn't need an armour: His weapon and his armour are part of him. He needs no additional protection. He goes into battle as he is.

Black Horse Revelation 6:5-6 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"
Bible, New International Version
This rider is nicknamed Famine because he's weighting and offering food for unbelieveable high prices that no one can affort. He is also referred to as Black Horse or Rider on the Black Horse because of the color of his horse.
This rider's hints: He was holding a pair of scales. It's the same as with the 1st rider. The pair of scales comes with the job. There is a Zodiac Sign called SCALES which correspondents with exactly these features. It is mostly depicted as a pair of scales or a man holding a pair of scales. The latin name of SCALES is LIBRA. This is it's symbol in the Zodiac Sign:
So we can give the 3rd horseman of the Apocalypse the name LIBRA. He can ride in the time between September 24th and October 23rd. This timeframe is associated with the Zodiac Sign LIBRA. It is the 7th Zodiac Sign.

Again one detail from the painting Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov.

The rider on the black horse is holding a pair of scales in his hand. Notice how the color spectrum used for displaying the pair of scales is the same as was used for displaying the rider? As the 2 nd rider War was displayed being symbolically connected to his horse by the color of his hair and the horse's color of fur so it is here the rider with his "weapon".

Green (Pale) Horse Revelation 6:7-8 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come and see!" I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Bible, New International Version
This rider is named Death because he says so. He is also referred to as Pale Horse, Green Horse, Rider on the Pale Horse or Rider on the Green Horse. The color of his horse ir referred to as pale or green so both are used.
This rider's hints: Hades was following close behind him. I know you're waiting to meet Death finally ... wanna know where he is? In the Greek Underworld. Hades is the Underworld in Greek Mythology and it's ruler is the god Hades. He is also known under the name Pluton which the Romans latinized into Pluto. There is a Zodiac Sign called VIRGO which correspondents with exactly these features. VIRGO originates from Virgin and so VIRGO is also called VIRGIN or THE MAIDEN. This is it's symbol in the Zodiac Sign:
So we can give the 4th horseman of the Apocalypse the name VIRGO. He can ride in the time between August 24th and September 23rd. This timeframe is associated with the Zodiac Sign VIRGO. It is the 6th Zodiac Sign.

For the last time another detail from the painting Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov.
17/19
Picture: Detail of green horse from Four Horseman of the Apokalypse (1887) by Victor Vanetsov
The plae or green rider holds a scythe in his hands and holding it down as if he wanted to cut something or reap. The whole Revelation is often referred to as a harvest of the true believers and punishment of the unbelievers and sinners. Now let's get some more information about VIRGO.
18/19
VIRGO is associated in Greek Mythology with the goddess Demeter and in Roman Mythology with the goddess Ceres.
Demeter In Greek mythology, Demeter is the goddess of the harvest, who presided over grains, the fertility of the earth, and the seasons (personified by the Hours). [] Though Demeter is often described simply as the goddess of the harvest, she presided also over the sanctity of marriage, the sacred law, and the cycle of life and death.
