ISAIAH 42:9

ISAIAH 42:1-4 GODS ETERNAL VISION FOR JUSTICE.

1

Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law. (Isa. 42:1-4) A. Isaiah 42:1-4 is one of the clearest prophetic statements concerning Gods vision for justice. It is essential that we lay a proper foundation with biblical contexts concerning the issue of justice lest human sentiment or partisan political agendas drive us. The issue of justice is more than a political agenda. The vision for justice lies deep within the heart of God. From eternity it has been the vision of the Godhead to see justice established in the created order. His vision is to establish justice on the earth, and He will see to it that it happens. In Habakkuk we see the Lord reveal to the prophet that the fullness of justice to which he is looking forward will take place when the fullness of Gods glory is manifest in the earth forever, when God joins heaven and earth together. Our hope is that Jesus will return to the planet and fill the earth with the glory of God, which is justice. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD (Hab. 2:14) D. Gods premier vision is for the earth to be filled with the knowledge of His glory when Jesus comes back to fully establish His Kingdom-rule over all the earth. He will join the heavenly and earthly realms together for God to fully express glory. having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earthin Him. (Eph. 1:9-10)

THE GOSPEL: THE MESSAGE OF JUSTICE Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things (Isa42:1,3,4, Jer31:31-33) I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them. (Isa. 42:9)

A.

The new things that the Lord declared through the prophet Isaiah are the glories of the new covenant culminating with the celestial city coming to the earth as Jesus joins the heavenly and the earthly together. Behold, the days are coming, when I will make a new covenant with the Israel and with Judah 33 this is the covenant that I will make with Israel after those days, I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. (Jer. 31:31-33)

Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. (Rev. 21:2-3, 5) B. The Church does not need a new humanitarian program but night and day intercession with the apostolic gospel brought to the poor and oppressed (Isa. 61:1-3 with power). This is called the gospel of the Kingdom that will be preached to all nations The oppressed need a message that will raise them up out of the ash heap of their own depravity, as well as the oppression that comes to them by other individuals and the corporate oppression that comes to them by the social systems. Jesus wants to deliver them from both. Many focus on one without the other. Jesus is concerned about both but His first concern is about their sin, moral depravity and eternal destiny. The issue of justice cannot be fully manifest without the clear proclaiming and revealing of the Man Christ Jesus along with His Fathers purpose. The gospel is good news to the poor and oppressed because it gives assurance that Gods will will come to pass and contains information to sustain the poor in the midst of their plight. Our hope is to return to the full gospel as the true message of justice for the poor and oppressed. Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to youunless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures (death), 4 and that He was buried (burial), and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (resurrection), 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ(death, burial resurrection) and the glories that would follow (the unfolding of the mystery). (1 Pet. 1:11)

THE MYSTERY: GODS ETERNAL BLUEPRINT A. The idea of the mystery of God speaks of the place of God that is in accordance with the longings and the desires of the heart of God. The apostolic mystery is more than a theological treatise but it is an expression of the heart God. The mysteries of God are an invitation into communion with the Godhead. There is a mystery in the heart of God which God ordained before the foundations of the earth. I believe that this plan was the holy motivation behind the execution of Genesis 1.

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory (1 Cor. 2:7) C. There is a hidden plan in the heart of God that was determined even before Genesis 1 took place. The Divine strategy (human history) is the way that God unfolds hidden information that binds our hearts to Him and enlarges our hearts in love. This hidden plan, or blueprint, necessitated that the Second Person of the Trinity become a man to pay the price for sin, to be raised from the dead, and to be seated back at the right hand of God the Father before the Father would declare this hidden plan to humanity (the redeemed). God gave the mystery of God to the apostles who recorded it in the written Word of God, and it was passed down through the generations. which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets (Eph. 3:5) E. Not until the Christ was revealed in the flesh and declared the mystery with His own mouth would the apostles know the mystery of God. God has now made the mystery plain to us by revealing it to the apostles and prophets who recorded the information in the scripture for us. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. (Jn. 1:18) F. The unfolding of human history as understood according to the Divine mystery impacts us and changes our emotional chemistry. God devised a plan such that as He unfolds it to our hearts it causes us to grow in the experiencing of the romance of the Gospel. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory (1 Cor. 2:7) G. The mystery of the Gospel reveals Gods plan, His power, and His Personhood. The revelation of the mystery of God is about the splendor of His majesty, the greatness of His power and the brilliance of His wisdom. The divine blueprints are called mysteries because they were hidden in the heart of God until the Second Person of the Trinity became a Man and declared it to us from His own mouth. Jesus had to be the first One to declare the mystery. The Father would not give it (that is His own heart) or delegate it to anyone else. This mystery was locked up in the very heart of the Father Himself. Only the One Who eternally dwells in the heart of God was able to faithfully declare the heart of God. God wants the whole Church to make known the mystery. Throughout church history and especially at the end of the age the Lord wants the Church to encounter, to walk out and to proclaim the mystery. The angels are filled with holy curiosity longing to look into the plan of God. They will gain their insight as God empowers the church to walk out the mystery of God.

but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished,(mystery faithfully declared in the earth) as He declared to His servants the prophets. (Rev. 10:7) And one cried to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory! (Isa. 6:3) Of this salvation (mystery) the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow (the unfolding of the mystery). To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the Gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaventhings which angels desire to look into. (1 Pet. 1:10-12) to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord (Eph. 3:10-11) IV. WISDOM REVEALED IN THE MYSTERY PRODUCES CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law. (Isa. 42:4)

in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. (Eph. 3:12-13) A. The revelation of the mystery of eternity produces confidence and boldness instead of timidity and shame because in it we can see the determined will of God and His zeal to bring it to the end. In these divine blue prints we can see the Fathers passion in the very plan itself. I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. (Job 42:2) B. The wisdom of God has to do with skill God possesses to carry out His own plan. It speaks of the brilliance of His leadership. He is the only wise God and through His administration not one of His plans or purposes will be thwarted.
33

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor? 35 Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him? 36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Rom. 11:33-36) C. God wants us to know that He devised a plan for His people rooted in His passion and His pleasure. This eternal purpose is profoundly rooted in His gladness and His kindness for His Son and for the very people that would be in the embrace of His Son.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
