THE MESSAGE OF JUSTICE STUART GREAVES


ISAIAH 42:1-4 I. RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUSTICE ARE THE FOUNDATION OF HIS THRONE (PS 97:2) A. There is a vision in the heart of the Father to establish justice in the earth. The subject of justice lies at the very core of the apostolic gospel proclaimed by the Son of God and the apostles of the early church. The establishing of Justice is central to the first and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

II.

THREE KEY COMPONENTS OF THE END-TIME JUSTICE MOVEMENT A. B. C. Night and Day Prayer (Lk 18) End-Time proclamation of the Just One as the Bridegroom, King and Judge Works of Justice (Mic 6:8, Jm 1:28, Lk 4:18)

III.

NIGHT AND DAY PRAYER MUST BE JOINED WITH NIGHT AND DAY WORKS OF JUISTCE A. The end-time prayer movement is an eschatological justice movement. The 24/7 cry for justice must go together with 24/7 works of justice (Mal. 4:6); especially Life issues. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. The issue of life Adoptions Human Trafficking Evangelism Physical healing Resisting all forms of racism Eschatological messengers of justice (forerunners contending for the faith) Israel (the ultimate battle ground) Repentance and healing from all forms of sexual brokenness Invading all the spheres of society (government, media, marketplace, education, etc.)

ISAIAH 42:1-2:4 IV. A FALSE JUSTICE MOVEMENT A. B. "The present social justice movement is preparing the poor of the earth to receive the Antichrist!" (Rev 13:16-17) The subject of justice is often fueled by sentiment and political platforms rather than truth. There is emerging in the earth a false justice movement that is rooted in politics and humanism and devoid of the apostolic revelation of Jesus Christ. If we do not address the issue of social justice the way the Scripture answers the issues, believers will drift and neglect our great salvation (Heb 2:1). The growing social justice movement is fueled by humanism, the seeds of which cause the questioning of the sufficiency of the gospel of the kingdom. (The person of Christ, the cross, the Lake of Fire, inward transformation through repentance, etc.)

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. Heb 2:1 D. The subject of justice on the earth is vast and complex, starting with our need to be justified in the court of heaven as individuals. The gospel also covers the vast subject of justice related to abortion, poverty, misogyny, oppression in the marketplace, law enforcement, medicine, education, employment, public services, racism (systemized prejudice), corruption, sexuality, immigration laws, the churchs posture before and interaction with government, the individual destiny of nations, etc. The issue that is facing the church in regards to this subject is not that of a new humanitarian method or program but the issue of the apostolic ministry of intercession; the apostolic gospel that is to be brought to the poor and the oppressed with apostolic power flowing from apostolic lifestyles. The poor and the oppressed need a message that will raise them up out of the ash heap of their personal depravity, as well as individual and corporate oppression. Our hope is to return to our DNA, the apostolic gospel, the preaching of Christ, which is the true message of justice to the governments, the nations of the earth and to the poor and the oppressed. The true gospel will fuel the poor and oppressed with endurance (Mt 7:24-25) for the greatest crisis that lies ahead of them.

ISAIAH 42:1-2:4 VI. ISAIAH 42 A VISION STATEMENT FOR JUSTICE A. There is a crisis in America and in the church of America greater than any form of social injustice. There is a great need in this hour for the apostolic preaching of the beauty and the splendor of the Man Christ Jesus. Isaiah 42:1-4 is one of the clearest prophetic statements concerning Gods vision for justice. It is essential that we lay a proper foundation with biblical contexts concerning the issue of justice lest human sentiment or partisan political agendas drive us. The issue of justice is more than a political agenda. The vision for justice lies deep within the heart of God. God is the God of justice; He loves and requires justice (Mic 6:8); His vision is to establish justice on the earth, and He will see to it that it happens.

A PROPHETIC PATTERN FOR THE MESSAGE OF JUSTICE - ISAIAH 42:1-4

Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 ; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law. Proclaiming the love and zeal of the Father for His Son (Matt 3:17) Call to heed and obey the Son of God (Mt 17:5) Encountering the love and the zeal of the Father for His Son (Jn 17:26) Proclaiming the Elect One as Gods final word and sole revelation of God (Heb 1:1-3) Proclaiming Christ as the appointed heir of all things (Ps 2:6-7)

In this hour the Lord is calling for His people to respond to the apostolic mandate to encounter the revelation of the Just One and proclaim Him as forerunners to the nations of the earth. As we encounter the Just One (Bridegroom, King and Judge), we will be able to properly discern the word of justice to the nations of the earth.
