SOCCER RULES

Start of The Game A game must start with a kick off from the centre of the soccer pitch. It is possible to score directly from a kick-off. Dimensions of a Soccer Field The minimum length is 100 yards and maximum 130 yards. The width can be maximum 100 yards or minimum 50 yards. Size of The Ball Size 5 which is the most common one. The Number of Players A team can have 11 players. There are only 3 substitutions allowed per team. The Required Equipment The colors of your team cant be the same as the colors of your keeper. The Assistant Referee Many people like to referee to them as "referee's assistants" or the "linesmen". The main referee may discuss his decision with the assistant referee. Duration of The Game If you play a regular soccer game, the time is 45 minutes per half plus overtime. However, in a cup there can also be extra time, 30 minutes (15 minutes per half). Ball in and Out of Play A soccer ball is out of play when it has wholly crossed the goal or touch line. It is in play when it rebounds from the referee.

Fouls and Misconduct 1st will be given a yellow card and a warning. 2nd will be given a suspension from the game. 2 yellow cards = 1 red card Method of Scoring In order to score a goal you need to send the whole ball over the goal line, between the goalposts and also under the crossbar. However, if the game ends without goals or if both teams score an equal number of goals, then the match will end as draw. In some competitions, extra time is added. If the game ends as a draw even after the extra time a penalty shootout is used to determine the winner of the game. The Offside Some examples on some common offside situations: You will be in offside if you are nearer your opponents goal line than your second last opponent and the ball. However, you will not be in offside if you are nearer your own half, in level with the second and also in level with the last two opponents. The Free Kick It is occurs when one of your opponents commits a foul on either you or one of your teammates; or if one of your opponents touches the ball with his hands. The Penalty Kick The soccer penalty kick rule is a type of kick that is taken from the goal line of your opponents. All other players must remain outside the 18 yard box until the ball is kicked. A player is allowed to kick the ball another time if the ball rebounds back to him. However, during a penalty shootout this rule is not available. The Throw in A soccer throw in is a method for restarting a soccer game. Your team will be awarded with a throw in when some of your opponents is the last player on the ball before it leaves the side line (also known as the touch line).

The Goal Kick A team will be awarded when its opponent is on the ball before it has crossed the goal line. A goalie will have 6 seconds from placing the ball onto the ground to sending it upon the field. If he refuses to take the kick during the six seconds, the referee may punish him with a yellow card or an indirect free kick. The Corner Kick A soccer corner kick is another way of restarting a soccer game. Keep in mind also that as soon as the kicker touches the ball it will be counted as being in play.

VOLLEYBALL RULES GAME CHARACTERISTICS 1. A team is allowed to hit the ball three times, in addition to the block contact, to return it to the opponents court. 2. A team wins a set by scoring twenty-five (25) points with a two (2) point lead and wins the match by winning two or three sets. FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT 1. The service zone is a 9m wide area behind the end line. TEAMS 1. A team is made up of a maximum of twelve players. POINT, SET AND MATCH WINNER (SCORING SYSTEM) 1. The winner of a match is the team that wins 2 of 3 sets or 3 of 5 sets. 2. The rally point system is commonly known as ping-pong. If a team scores a point, they keep serving and also keep possession of their serve. POSITIONS 1. At the moment the ball is hit by the server, each team must be within its own court except the server. 2. The three players along the net are front row players, the other three are back row players. Each player in the front row must be nearer the center line or net than the player immediately behind. A player on the right hand side of the court must have the player on his left on his left and nowhere else. 3. If a team is not in the proper position at the moment of the serve, they are committing a positional fault. It leads to loss of rally.

4. A rotation fault is committed when the service is not made in the proper rotation order. SUBSTITUTIONS 1. Six substitutions are the maximum permitted per set. A player of the starting line up is allowed to leave and return to the play during the set but only to return to his previous position. 2. A substitute player may enter the play only once in the set and can only be replaced by the same player. 3. An injured player who cannot continue playing should be legally substituted. If this is not possible, an exceptional substitution can be made. PLAYING ACTIONS 1. The ball is in play as soon as the ball has been hit by the server. Nevertheless, the referee must have blown his whistle to allow the server to proceed. 2. The rally ends with the referees whistle. However, if it results from a fault made in play, the ball is out of play from the moment the fault was committed. FAULTS IN PLAYING THE BALL 2. If a player takes a support from a teammate or object in order to hit the ball he is committing a fault. Nevertheless, a player can be held by a teammate if he is about to touch the net or touch the center line. 3. A ball driven into the net can be picked up within the three touch limit without any penalty. If the ball rips the mesh of the net or tears it down, the play shall be cancelled and replayed. BLOCKING 1. While blocking, the player is allowed to touch the ball on the opposite side of the net, providing that he does not interfere before or during the other players attempt to hit the ball. 2. A players hand is allowed to cross the net after the moment of contact with the ball. 3. Physical contact with the net is a fault that leads to loss of rally. It is not a fault when a player not attempting to play the ball accidentally touches the net. SERVICE 1. The first service of sets 1, 3 and 5 are done by the team that won the coin toss. 2. The server must hit the ball within 5 seconds of the referees whistle. ATTACK-HITS AND BLOCKING

1. All actions which consist of directing the ball towards the opponents court are considered attack-hits. Serving and blocking are not. 2. Front row players are allowed to attack at any moment. 3. Back row players are not allowed to attack inside the three meter line of the court. They can nevertheless attack from the back row. To do so, the player must jump from behind the three meter line without touching the line with his feet. He is permitted to land inside the three meter line. 4. A back row player is allowed to complete an attack from the front row only if the ball is lower than the top of the net.
