Step 1: Read the advertisement thoroughly either on the link available at ongcindia.comor in RozgarSamachar/ Employment News. Check whether you fulfill the eligibility criteria. Check whether you fulfill the experience criteria in case of Security Officer post. Check whether you fulfill the Age required for the post. Check whether the essential qualification possessed by you is exactly as mentioned in the advertisement.

Step2: For filling up the application form login Click onLife@ONGC Click on Careers with us and select Recruitment Notices Click on Recruitment for Graduate Trainee-2012 Alternatively you can go directly from by clicking on the scrolling list - Recruitment for Graduate Trainee-2012 appearing on the top of the page. Click on Recruitment for Graduate Trainee-2012. This will take you to the main page where you can o Check the eligibility criteria and other details once again o Download the challan form o See the prescribed format of the Caste certificates o Apply online o Look for Frequently Asked Questions o See the steps required to fill up the application form and o Once registered you can take a print of the registration slip or see the status of your application o The important dates are also mentioned here. Please adhere to them strictly

Step 3: Download the Challan form. Fill up all the details and deposit money in any branch of SBI for the requisite amount. Candidates please note that any fee deposited through instruments like Demand Draft/ Banker Cheques/ IPO, online transfer of money into ONGC account etc will not be accepted. If any applicant makes payment through any such mode, fee will NOT be returned/ refunded or considered for candidature. Therefore applicants

should pay the fee through downloaded challan form (designated process) only. Also candidates making deposition of sub denomination fee will also be rejected. Keep a scanned copy of the following documents ready for upload o Scanned copy of your recent passport size photograph with white background(not more than 50 kb, jpg or jpeg format only) o Scannedcopy of your signature and (not more than 20 kb, jpg or jpeg format only) o Scanned copy ofthe ONGC copy of the bank challan(not more than 100 kb, jpg or jpeg format only).

Step 4: Enter Personal details like o First Name, Middle Name and Last Name (Name should be as per class 10th /Matriculation/ SSC certificate) o Fathers First Name, Middle Name and Last Name o Gender o Date of Birth o Marital Status and o Religion: In case you do not profess any of the religions mentioned in the drop down menu, please choose the Othersoption. A blank field opens up where you can fill the religion of your choice.

Step 5: Enter Category details like o Category: General, SC, ST, OBC o If person is disable select Yes or No. In case Yes two new fields open: (a) Type of Disability: VH, HH, OH and (b) % of Disability: from 40 to 100. In case the disability is VH another field opens which gives three options: Want a scribe, Want Big Font Paper and No Requirement. Select either of these. o Whether Departmental Candidate: Yes or No. A departmental candidate is one who is an ONGC employee. In case Yes is chosen 4 new fields appear: (i) CPF No (ii) Designation (iii) Date of Joining (iv) Work Centre. Fill all the fields with the correct data. Please note that this shall be verified further and hence it is absolutely essential that correct data is entered. Submitting incorrect or false data may lead to disqualification.

Step 6: Enter Post Apply details like o Primary Qualification: Please ensure that the nomenclature of your qualification is exactly as mentioned in the advertisemente.g. Post Graduate degree in Physics (with Maths/ Physics at B.Sc. Level) for Reservoir discipline.Please note that the eligibility for disciplines with the qualification of Post Graduate degree in Geophysics is different from a Post Graduate degree in Geophysics (with Maths/ Physics at B.Sc. level). Similar is the case with other such qualifications. Hence the essential qualification should be chosen carefully. o Result Awaited: Yes or No. In case Result Awaited is Yes then Year of Passing 2012 appears as a default value which cannot be changed. In case Result Awaited is No then the candidate has to fill data in two fields, Year of Passing and % of marks. Please make sure that your % of marks is 60% or more except for CA/ICWA, MBBS and Post Graduate degree for the post of Security Officer where only a pass is required. o Name of Institution/ University from where qualifying degree was awarded. o Based on the data entered by the candidate the system automatically gives the disciplines for which he is eligible. The candidate has to mention which Discipline comes first in his order of preference(s) and which last by selecting the disciplines from the drop down menu. In case the candidate wants to prefer only one discipline then he needs to fill that discipline in all the preference columns. o Written test Center: Choose the test center of your choice from the drop down menu. The choice once given cannot be changed once the application form has been saved. So choose carefully. o Language for written test: Choose form either Hindi or English.

Step 7: Enter Correspondence details like o Valid E-mail id o Mobile No o Landline no o Address o District o State and o Pin code

In case Permanent address is same as the address for correspondence put a tick mark in the space given and the correspondence address is copied in the permanent address fields. If it is different thenthe Permanent address fields need to be filled up. Step 8: Enter Bank details like o Journal No o Deposit date o Bank Branch and o Branch code Care should be taken to fill the correct Journal no etc so that it is mentioned exactly as it is mentioned in the challan form. Any mismatch may lead to rejection of candidature.

Step 9: For upload details click on BROWSE/ CHOOSE FILE as mentioned in the box provided. Go to the file location and click on the file for upload Once all three i.e. photo, signature and challan copy have been so chosen, click on UPLOAD button given below. If the upload is successful a message in red will appear Upload successful. else Upload not successful. Please try again will appear. If upload is not successful please check if the file is in jpg or jpeg format or the file size is as per details mentioned at point E1(c) of the advertisement or that the file name should necessarily be in small alphabets i.e. i.e. PHOTO.JPG is not acceptable but photo.jpg will be acceptable. Care should also be taken that a recent passport size colour photograph with a white background is uploaded.

Step 10: Once all the details have been filled, click the PREVIEW button given at the bottom of the page. In case system gives an error message please go to the relevant field and enter correct data. If all the data is correct the system takes you to a Preview page. Check whether the details submitted by you are appearing correctly on the preview page. Please note that the uploaded files i.e. photo or signature or challan copy will not appear on the preview page. In case you feel that some data needs to be corrected, press on the EDIT button given at the bottom of the page. This will take you back to

the main application form. Change the desired fields and press PREVIEW once again. Once you are satisfied that the data is appearing on the preview page as you have filled in the application form, press SAVE AND SUBMIT. Once this is done you can no longer make any changes to your application form, so press this button only when you are sure that the data entered in the application form is correct. It is mandatory to press the SAVE AND SUBMIT button for the data to be captured in our system. Once the SAVE AND SUBMIT button is pressed, a Registration slip is generated which gives the registration no and other details. This is proof that your candidature has been registered with us. Please take a print of this by pressing on the PRINT button given on top right hand corner of the screen. Keep this form in safe custody for future reference. An SMS and an e-mail of the registration id is also sent to the registered mobile no or e-mail intimating that your candidature has been registered with us. You can reprint a copy of the registration slip by logging in from the main page using either a combination of registration id and date of birth or a combination of e-mail id and date of birth.
