Chapter 1 1. (2-pt.) How did God speak to our forefathers in the past, and how has He spoken in these last days? A: through the prophets at many times and in various ways; by His Son 2. A: to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away There is a place where someone has testified what concerning the Son of Man? A: What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor and put everything under his feet. Though at present we do not see everything subject to him, how do we see Jesus? A: now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone What was fitting, in bringing many sons to glory? A: that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. Why is God able to help those who are being tempted? A: because he himself suffered

Chapter 3 11. As the Holy Spirit says, what should you do if hear his voice? A: do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion 12. What should you do daily, as long as it is called Today? A: encourage one another

Why should we make every effort to enter Gods rest? A: so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience What does the word of God do? A: it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Just as we have had the gospel preached to us, what is true? A: the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard it did not combine it with faith. Chapter 5 How is ever high priest selected? A: from among men Why must the priest offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people? A: since he himself is subject to weakness What did Jesus do during his days of life on earth? A: offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death Once made perfect, what happened to Christ? A: he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek. Though you ought to be teachers by this time, what do you need? A: someone to teach you the elementary truths of Gods word all over again. You need milk, not solid food.

Chapter 6 26. Upon leaving the elementary teachings about Christ, what should we do? A: go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 27. What land receives the blessing of God? A:land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed.

28. What did God say when he swore by himself his promise to Abraham? A: I will surely bless you and give you many descendants. 29. Why did God confirm his purpose with an oath? A: because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. Why does Jesus have a permanent priesthood? A: because he lives forever Chapter 8-13 Chapter 8 What is the point of what the writer of Hebrews is saying in regards to a high priest? A: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man. What would have been true if nothing was wrong with the first covenant? A: no place would have been sought for another. What is every high priest appointed to do? A: offer both gifts and sacrifices What was Moses warned when he was about to build the tabernacle? A: See to it that you make everything according to the pattern on the mountain What is true because this covenant is called new? A: he has made the first one obsolete

Chapter 9 41. What did the first covenant have? A: regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary 42. What was in the first room of the tabernacle? A: the lampstand, the table, and the consecrated bread

A: being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see What does Abel still do, even though he is dead? A: speak How did Abraham make his home in the promised land? A: like a stranger in a foreign country Who does the writer of Hebrews not have time to tell about? A: Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets

Chapter 12 56. What should we do since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses? A: throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us 57. Who should we fix our eyes on? A: Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God 58.
