Curcumin is the main ingredient of the orange-yellow spice Turmeric (Curcumina in Spanish) (Curcuma longa) and there are many reports of its anti-cancer effects. It commonly is found in Jamaican curry and yellow mustard. It is also available as a ground powder. Doses of up to 6-8 grams per day seem to be without major side effects. Unfortunately it absorption via the digestive tract is poor but can be enhanced by combining it with black pepper. Turkey tail mushroom extract also has anticancer properties, according to the following link: http://cordycepsreishiextracts.com/turkey_tail_mushroom_extract.htm The above extract appears to be helping tremendously a friend of mine who was recently operated for uterine cancer.

Recent studies indicate that aqueous extracts of Betel leaf (Piper betel or Piper betle) possess anti-cancer activity, residing in at least one of its components, hydroxychavicol. The only reservation concerning its use has been attributed to its high concentration of the volatile oil safrole (15 mg per g of leaf). In rats safrole administered at very high doses was found to be a weak liver carcinogen after its metabolism to 2 active carcinogenic metabolites that could be detected in rat urine. In the same study, however, these carcinogenic metabolites could not be detected in human urine after an equivalent dose of safrole was ingested by humans. Before its ban as a major ingredient in root beer, safrolerich root beer (containing 5 mg of safrole per tin can) was heavily consumed for 2 or 3 decades by populations in the Appalachian mountain area. If safrole were a human liver carcinogen an increased incidence of liver related disease and cancer would be expected to be found in this population. However, the contrary was found. In a decade after the ban, a survey of this population revealed a much lower incidence of liver disease (including cancer) than the general population (see the article SAFETY ISSUES AFFECTING CHINESE HERBS: The Case of Asarum http://www.itmonline.org/arts/asarum.htm). Safrole has a boiling point of 232-234 degrees Celsius. Boiling betel leaves for a few minutes should cause substantial evaporation of safrole and thereby reduce it s concentration in teas or infusions made with the leaves. I use 4-5 deep green betel leaves boiled for a minute or two in approximately 1 cup of water to lower blood pressure. Low levels of safrole are found in many edible spices, including basil, cinnamon, mace, nutmeg, sassafras, star anise, black and white pepper. In Chinese medicine, extracts of dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) have been attributed to have anti-tumor effects. Benzaldehyde, administered as an inclusion molecule inside the cyclical crown-shaped carrier molecule, Beta Cyclodextrin, was reported to cause remissions in a significant number of terminally ill patients with a variety of different cancers as reported in this peerreviewed paper: Kochi, Matsuyuki, et al. Antitumor Activity of Benzaldehyde. Cancer Therapy Reports, Natl. Inst. of Health Vol. 64, 1, p. 21-23 (1980). Also see a related link below: http://www.tldp.com/issue/160/160modrn.htm There is also recent evidence that extracts odf Chrysanthemum indicum possess anti-cancer activity. locally has also been to have anti-proliferative effects residing in one of its components, parthenin.
