*I really didnt measure how much yarn I used. All I can say is I didnt use the whole ball of yarn, you will have a lot left over. BODY Row 1magic circle, CH2, 10 DC sl st with the CH 2. Row 2- 2 DC in each DC. SL at the end. Ending with (20 DC) Row 3- CH2- DC in the same as CH2. 2DC on the next st. *DC on the next St. 2DC on the next st. Repeat from *(30 DC) Row 4- CH2, DC in same as CH2. DC in the next 2 sts. 2DC on the next st. *DC on the next 2 sts. Repeat from * (40 DC) Row 5- CH2, DC on the 2 sts. 2DC on the next st. *DC on the next 3 DC sts. 2DC on the next st. EARFLAPS: make 2 *START at the back of the hat. Row 1: Join in the 8th DC from back joining, Ch1, DC in same st as joining, DC in the next 12 DC, turn (13 dc) Row 2: Ch1, Dc in each DC across, turn. Attach yarn. Work as for the first earflap. OPTIONAL-braids on each earflap. Cut 3 long pieces of green & black each measuring 30 in. gather then fold in half. Insert the string through the center of the earflap. Separate 2 green 2 black and make braid. 12 strings total. EYES-make 2 Magic circle Row 1- 5: sc forming a circle. Row 2: 2sc on each st. (10 sc) Row 3: 2sc on each st. (20 sc) Row 4-10: SC on each st. (20 sc) *Once you have done your eyes, make sure to stuff them before you sew the eyes to the hat. Row 2- 3: sc across (5sc) *At the end of row 5 DO NOT CUT YARN. Continue to sc around the ear, giving the ear a smoother surface. TONGUE Row 1 & 2: Ch 5, sc across. (4sc) Row 2-4: 2sctog, sc on next 2 st. 2sctog on the last sts. Faste off with a long tail. *Again dont cut yarn at the end of work. Instead sc around the tongue. **Cut a 5in long piece of black yarn. Insert it at the top center on the tongue, (where tongue is thinner) from behind, then on the bottom center making a knot on the back. Hide the tail. FINISHING Sew everything in place.
