10f2

Luk 5:1-11 And it came to pass r that r as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of Godr he stood by the lake of Gennesaret r(2)And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them r and were washing [their] nets.(3) And he entered into one of the shipsr which was Simon'sr and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people r out of the ship. (4) Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simonr Launch out into the deepr and let down your nets for a draught.(5) And Simon answering said unto him Master r we have toiled all the r night r and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.(6) And when they had this done r they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. (7) And they beckoned unto [their] partners r which were in the other shipr that they should come and help them. And they camer and filled both the shipsr so that they began to sink. (8) When Simon Peter saw [itJr he fell down at Jesus' knees r saying r Depart from me; for I am a sinful man r 0 Lord. (9) For he was astonished r and all that were with him r at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: (10) And so [was] also James r and John r the sons of Zebedee r which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. (11) And when they had brought their ships to land they forsook r all, and followed him. Every Christian can launch out into the deep by looking at 3 conditions of a deep experience
1. You need to let go of convenience and find Christ.

a.Peter had to leave his net washing work (stop everything) and go back to the boat b.Peter could have said "no I'm too tired" because "I've toiled all the night" II. You need to let go of what you know and grab on to what he said :. a.he knew they didn't catch anything - he could see they had come back emptYr everyone could see they didn't catch "a thang" b.They had to admit fruitlessness - "and have taken nothing" c.they had to get over that what they thought was best d.They had to get over their occupation

rove (Tell them the problem) Rebuke (Tell them the consequences) Exhort (Help them correct it) To many of us pay God lip service and say we will surrender to God's will but go home and do as we think is best. We think things like "what I have been doing has worked so far", "that Preacher, that is just his interpretation of the Bible", "The Lord understands what I'm doing", "I know what I need to do but ... " III. You have to step out of your comfort zone and into the faith zone. "Launch out into the deep" a.It is in the deep you will find your catch b.It is in the deep you will find your miracle c.It is in the deep you will realize who you really are d.Deep people want other people to come experience what they have - If you ever get out your

comfort zone and into the faith zone other people will want what you have. Nobody wants sorry shallow Christianity, people want to see faith that is real and faith that is deep. You can't help anybody if you aren't getting helped, yourself. e. Once you have deep faith it wont matter about your nets, your boat, your time, or your convenience, all that will matter is him v.ll - The fish didn't matter, money didn't matter, and the boat didn't matter. After a life changing deep water experience all that mattered was him. Appl ication: Reprove (Tell them the problem) Rebuke (Tell them the consequences) Exhort (Help them correct it) You want to see people get saved but they don't see the gospel doing anything to you. You want to go to an exciting church but both your hands must be disabled because you don't raise them, you must have laryngitis because you don't say amen. Our attitude most of the time when we come to church is "O.K. I'm here now bless me if you can, encourage me if you can, and help me, help me, help me" What if you came to church already fired up, what if you came to church excited, what if you came to church to help someone else. Church shouldn't be a bore, Church shouldn't be a chore, it should be exciting and you should say I can't wait to go to church.
