The main purpose of this article is to inform the audience of concerns and risks that many teens can experience if they undergo cosmetic surgery because many of times their bodies may not be fully developed. 6. What organization or individual created this site? Diana Zuckerman, PhD is the author of these two articles. The National Research Center for Women & Families is the association that is the founder of the actual website. 7. Does this organization or individual have affiliations that might create a built-in bias toward the information? Explain your answer. I do not believe that the author, who writes medical journals that are published in the Journal of Adolescent Health, has any affiliations that might create a built-in bias toward the information because she is to be a creditable source. She is a licensed doctor who has written articles for the website of breastimplantinfo.org. This site is to inform anyone on risks, procedures, and any questions one might have after having plastic surgery. Diana Zuckerman, PhD is also the president of the National Research Center for Women & Families. What other references are cited for the information presented?

The only websites that were linked to www.breastimplantinfo.org was projects that used this website as a reference and one of a government study that used this site in their article to allow teens to find out more information about cosmetic surgery.

The author of the website is the National Research for Women and Families and is an independent charity. The author of the article is Diana Zuckerman, PhD. They have received an award for Best Charity certified by Independent Charities of America. The women that wrote the article has her doctrine in the field and therefore has the credentials to present this information. 10. Can you provide feedback on the Web site and create an exchange with the author or Web site manager? The website does not have a link to contact the author directly, but it does however allow you to contact the National Research for Women and Families. Not only does it give a valid address, phone number, and fax number, but it also refers you to another website www.center4research.com where you are able to find out more information regarding women and teens. 11. When was the material on the Web site copyrighted? The second article which I found more informative was copyrighted March of 2005. When was the material updated? Diana also wrote another article on the same subject which was to be published in the Journal of Adolescent Health in the October 2008 addition. It is mentioned on the website home page that articles are frequently updated, and this website is fairly new. 12. How helpful is this site to you? Does it have the information you need? Explain your answers. This website has a lot of insightful information regarding teens that undergo cosmetic surgery and what are the most popular procedures for teens. In addition, the articles also mention some of the risks that are associated with having cosmetic surgery performed at such a young age. In conclusion, it also gives the audience tips of what to expect after one may experience after the surgery. 13. Describe how the information at this Web site might be used in your expository essay: When writing my essay it will be helpful to understand why having cosmetic surgery in your teen years can be such a danger to the teens body. They are not fully developed and this is why it is not always recommended for teens to undergo cosmetic surgeries such as breast implants, and genital reconstruction. Also if I know the background of why the majority of teens request cosmetic surgery that might be helpful when writing my essay. In addition, this article gives me background on cosmetic surgeries. In order to go more in depth, such as my topic for my essay, I will need to learn the background of the topic and what is exactly considered plastic surgery. The pros, cons and risks are also helpful information in making my essay informative. 14.
