Greetings from the Hot, Hot Cebu. The weather has been very hot and yet we have had a lot of rainfall. It is still a beautiful place to live and work for the Lord.
Pastors and Workers Conference 2012 We have begun planning and preparing for this years Pastors and Workers Conference for the Visayas and Mindanao region in the Philippines. Our theme this year is The Life of Christ and we will have 7 sessions and 3 workshops. We anticipate around 100 pastors and workers to attend this year. The conference will begin at 2PM on October 16th and conclude at noon on the 18th.

Inductive Bible Study Course

We have just begun a new IBS class and currently have 8 students enrolled. We are studying the DVDs of Pastor Dan Frinfrock and I am facilitating the learning. It is a refresher for many of us to brush up on how to get more out of our time in the Bible, without depending on commentaries and other study materials.

Leadership Change
My assistant Pastor Gerry Bascon has decided to step down as Praise and Worship Leader and to resign as a staff member of SHCC. He will continue to teach our Mid-Week Cebuano service and our first service (Cebuano) on Sunday morning as a lay pastor. He felt the pressure of being on staff full time was causing him too much stress. He will be missed because he handled several ministries during the day.

Possible New Feeding Ministry

In addition to the five feeding ministries we currently do, feeding almost 1400 children per week, we have been approached by a high school principal in a neighboring Barangay and asked to feed 100 malnourished children in her school once a week. Pray for enough workers to honor her request.

Health Update
Since my heart attack last month I have had an additional test called a Dobutamine Stress Echo test. This test showed a few things. It showed that I am OK to travel to the USA for any further procedures deemed necessary. It showed that I need an Angiogram, possibly an Angioplasty, A probable aortic valve replacement and depending on the results of the angiogram, perhaps some sort of by pass. I am feeling stronger everyday and have been approved for light exercise for 10 minutes per day to build my strength. I am sleeping well and have no shortness of breath or any type of chest pains or discomfort. Pray this continues. We are working on getting everything in order to make the trip and anticipate traveling by the end of October or early November at the latest. We are currently putting plans in place here to keep the church running smoothly while I am gone. Please continue to pray for all of this.

House and Church Location

We continue to look for a new location and will find out this week if one we like will be available to us. Please continue to pray for this so we can settle into building and running the church.
Sheilanis VISA

My wife and I met with the U. S. Consulate in Cebu and they feel we have a very good chance of her joining me this time. She has applied for an interview with the U. S. Embassy in Manila and will meet with them on October 1 at 7:30AM. Please pray that she is accepted and approved this time.

Things are Shaking

In the past few days we have had a strange variety of weather for us. We have had very hot weather, followed by very hard rain and last Friday evening during our Young Adults meeting, we experienced 3 Earthquakes. We are used to hot weather, hard rain and occasional earthquakes but not all in succession. The End Times, they are coming. Come quickly Lord Jesus.
