INTRODUCTION The Holy Spirit is the third divine person of the eternal Godhead, co-equal, co-eternal and coexistent with the father and son. It is his ministry to convict and convert man as well as to reveal the son and the father to the believer. PERSONALITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Many people argue that the Holy Spirit is God but not a person .I would like to say that the Holy Spirit is both person and God. I would talk about the personality of the Holy Spirit and also deity of the Holy Spirit. Under the personality of the Holy Spirit, there are two views, the erroneous views and the Biblical views but due to by argument; I would talk about the Biblical views of the Holy Spirit. Biblical views mean the right views of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has the qualities of a person that is it behaves like a person. He thinks, he feels and he decides. First and foremost, the Holy Spirit thinks like a person .He thinks like the way a person thinks. He thinks on collate to do and whatever that he does .Because he thinks, he is very intelligent. He thinks deep and knows everything [omniscient] he is very good in any aspect. In Roman 8:27 , the bible says that ,And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the spirit ,because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God will .That is when we make our mind and heart that we will go with God , the spirit would have also go with us because the Spirit is also God .If we obey Gods commandment and do as he has asked us to do, the Holy Spirit will come and fill us, indwell us and then our life will be good and smooth . Moreover, the Holy Spirit feels, He could be grieved that is when the Holy Spirit is insulted or is being worry, he gets annoyed. The Holy Spirit behaves like a person because it also gets upset with us. For instance the bible tells us not to steal, the Holy Spirit gets annoyed with us. Secondly, the Holy Spirit acts as a person. The reason why am saying that the Holy Spirit acts like a person is that, the Holy Spirit guides ,he convicts ,he prays and then he searches .Holy Spirit can guide in a sense that, he shows the way or directs. The Holy Spirit shows us the way like it shows the right way which we should live .He also directs us when we are going wrong in life. Again ,the Holy Spirit convicts ,that is He judges .When we do wrong the Holy Spirit judges us like humans or as a person .He judges us according to our wrong deeds because we know what we are to do and what we are not to do. The Holy Spirit prays as a person. He also prays to thank God and also he prays to forgive us our sins. Thirdly, the Holy Spirit searches in 1Cor.2:10, the bible says, that but God has revealed it to us by his spirit. The Holy Spirit searches all things, even the deep thing of God. The Holy Spirit acts like a person in a sense that, he speak. The Holy Spirit speaks to his people; he speaks to those who could hear him. When one wants to do something, the Holy Spirit tells the person whether to continue or not. (Hebrews1:1-20) it tells us that, in the past God spoke to our forefathers through prophets but at this end time , he speaks through his son to us, he whom he

appointed as heir of the universe. This means that Jesus the son of God has already spoken to us but when he was going, he said he shall send the Holy Spirit to come and continue what he was doing here on earth .The Holy Spirit shall come and indwell us to teach and tell us what to do. The Holy Spirit always talks to us in a silence way. Lastly, He is the spirit of holiness (Romans 1:4). The Holy Spirit is Holy-in the sense that , it does not sin .It is far from sin ,he is very clean ,and he does not love any dirt on him. When you look at the bible, it says that through Jesus Christ who resurrected from the dead brought holiness to our life. Since the Holy Spirit is also God and God is also the son. DEITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT On the other hand, the Holy Spirit can be God at the same time .That is the deity of the Holy Spirit. The concept of deity refers to the divine nature of the Holy Spirit .He is seen as God, the deity of the Holy Spirit consist of his names, his attributes and his work. These are the three main aspects that we have to major in dealing with the deity of the Holy Spirit. His attributes are also one of the divine natures of the Holy Spirit. Attributes are the characteristics of God .There are two types of attributes; they are divine attributes and moral attributes. Divine attributes are the names that we give to God. Such names are omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotent .etc. Firstly, the Holy Spirit is known as omniscience because he knows everything. He knows everything that goes on in the world; he can even know those that have not happened before .He knows whatever we do on this earth. And even before we do anything on this earth, the Holy Spirit would know first and even before something happens. For instance, before it run, he knows and even before someone is born. Also he is referred to us as omnipresence. He is called the omnipresence because he is at everywhere. Every corner he is there, wherever we go His presence is there Psalm 139:7-10 say that, where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your there, if I make my bed in depths, youre settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide us, your right hand will hold us fast. This scripture means that, wherever we go, the Holy Spirit is there. He guides us and protects us. His hands are ever long that it reaches everywhere. Therefore there is nothing that we can do on this earth that God will not see us again. Again, the Holy Spirit is so powerful that no Spirit or gods can battle with Him. In Luke 1:35, the angel answered the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will over shadow you. Moral attributes are attributes that says whom God is and the first moral attribute is holiness. The Holy Spirit is a spirit of holiness. That is the Holy Spirit is without sin. He is truly pure without stains. He has a pure heart and soul. He does not make way or path way for sin anything he does is truly pure in every way. When we say a person is holy, and then we mean that, the person is

without in. That is how the how the Holy Spirit is. It is without sin and since God and Jesus made of no sins that are the same way that the Holy Spirit is without sin. When the angle said that, the spirit comes upon ye, so this means that the Holy Spirit has the power to make everything possible. The Holy Spirit is also called God, eternal; He is the source of life. I would like to talk about the moral attributes. Moral attributes are the manes that one gives to the Holy Spirit in a way of saying how great he is. The first moral attributes of the Holy Spirit is that, the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. John 16:13 says that. But when he, the spirit, comes he will guide you into all truth. He will not peak on His own; he will speak only what he hears; and he will tell you what is yet to come. That is the Holy Spirit will tell us the truth and nothing but the truth. He will not lie to us, He will guide us to know the truth and also help us tell the truth. The Holy Spirit guides us in all truth and in everything we do. Moreover, He is the Spirit of Love. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit that loves. The Spirit loves each and every one the way he loves himself. In Romans 15:30, the Bible says that: the Holy Spirit urges each and every one to love every one and join in the struggle by praying to God. The Holy Spirit loves himself and also loved anybody. Since God loves us as his children, the Holy Spirit also does same. CONCLUSION Scripture indicates that the Holy Spirit has divine attributes and works, and its spoken of him in the same way that the Father and Son are. The Holy Spirit is intelligent, and speaks and acts like a person. Three points that emerge from this survey of the New Testament data are: The Holy Spirit is regarded everywhere as God. He is God in distinction from the Father and the Son. His deity does not infringe upon the divine unity.
