1. GETTING STARTED
AT&T Connect Mobile for Android provides a virtual conference space that lets you easily participate in an AT&T Connect conference using existing Internet and telephone resources. With your Android mobile device you can: Attend AT&T Connect conferences as a participant View the Participants list Share emoticons See who is speaking and raising their hands See who has stepped out of the conference View whiteboard content

What You Need


To use AT&T Connect Mobile for Android you need: One of the following supported operating systems: Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Android ICS Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100 ) Samsung Galaxy SII (i777) Samsung Infuse 4G (i997) Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket (i727) HTC Inspire 4G (PD98120)

One of the following supported devices:

Note: If you use an Android device other than the ones listed above, you can still use the AT&T Connect application. However, some functions may not work properly. An active 4G, 3G or 2G GSM cellular network or WiFi connection A conference that was initiated on AT&T Connect v9.2 with SP1 or higher.

Installing the Application


Typically, you download the AT&T Connect Mobile for Android application from Google Play. However, you can also download the application via an email invitation to a conference.

Download from Google Play


Download the AT&T Connect Mobile for Android application from Google Play at https://play.google.com/store. After the application is installed, the AT&T Connect icon appears in your devices home screen.

Download from an Email Invitation


If you have not yet downloaded the AT&T Connect Mobile application and you receive an email invitation to an AT&T conference, you can download the application via the invitation link. 1. Click on the link to the conference in the email invitation.

Figure 3-AT&T Connect Download Screen 2. Tap on the Google Play button go to the AT&T Connect application in Google Play. 3. Tap on Download to begin the installation process. After the application is installed, the AT&T Connect icon appears in your devices home screen.

Running the Application for the First Time


1. Tap on the AT&T Connect icon in your devices home screen to launch the application. 2. Tap on Accept in the AT&T Connect End User License Agreement screen.

Entering Your Details


After accepting the license agreement, you are asked to provide your details in the Welcome screen.

3. Enter your phone number which is used for the Call Me option, if allowed by your company. 4. Tap on Done.

Editing Your Number


Once you entered your details in the Welcome screen, it transforms into the My Profile screen. Here you can edit your phone number whenever you open the AT&T Connect Mobile application. You do not need to be in a conference to do so. To edit your number: 1. Tap on the AT&T Connect icon in your devices home screen. 2. Tap on the menu icon on your device and then tap on My profile to open the My Profile screen with your details.

2. JOINING A CONFERENCE
Join a conference from the home screen, email invitation or from a scheduled meeting in your mobile devices calendar.

Joining from the Home Screen


1. Tap on the AT&T Connect icon in your devices home screen to open the AT&T Connect home screen.

Figure 7-Home Screen 2. Tap on the Join button. This opens the Current Conferences screen with a list of your ongoing conferences and those that will occur within the next two hours. You can join an ongoing conference, or a conference that will start within the next fifteen minutes.

Figure 8Current Conferences Screen 3. Tap on the conference you wish to join. You will be connected to the conference within in a few moments. Until then you see the Waiting Room screen.

Figure 9Waiting Room Screen Once you are connected to the conference, the Audio Connection screen pops up for you to connect your audio to the conference. 4. Choose how you wish to connect your audio (see below, Connecting Your Audio).

Connecting Your Audio


When joining a conference, the Audio Connection screen is displayed for you to choose how you wish to connect your audio to the conference. You can request to be called (if your company has allowed this option) or you can dial in to the conference. After your audio is connected, you must re-open the application.

Using the Call Me Feature


If your company has enabled the Call Me feature, you can have AT&T Connect call you to connect your audio. AT&T Connect will call the number that you entered in the Welcome screen. For more information, see Entering Your Details. 1. Tap on Call Me and wait for AT&Ts incoming call. 2. Answer the call and dial 1 to proceed to the conference automatically. 3. Once connected, go back to the AT&T Connect application.

Dialing in to the Conference


Either perform a quick dial or dial in to the conference according to the Dial-in instructions. 1. Tap on Dial-in to be connected automatically. or Tap on Display Dial-in Instructions to open a web page with the dial-in instructions for dialing in manually.

2. Once connected, go back to the AT&T Connect application.

Is Your Audio Already Connected?


If you are already connected to the conference by audio (mobile or land line connection), you need to enter a code. 1. In the Audio Connection screen, tap on Im already connected by phone. 2. Dial the number displayed in the notification message.

Reconnecting your Audio


If your audio was disconnected during the conference, you can easily re-connect from the Conference or Participants tabs. 1. Tap on the disabled Audio button to open the Audio Connection screen.

Joining from an Email Invitation


Youve received an email invitation to an AT&T Connect conference. 1. Open the mail application on your mobile device. 2. Locate the AT&T Connect invitation and tap on the link under To connect to the Web Conference. You will be connected to the conference within in a few moments.

Note: If you have not yet installed the application, you will be redirected to the GooglePlay page with a download link. For more information see Download from an Email Invitation.

Joining from the Calendar


You have an AT&T Connect conference scheduled in your calendar. 1. Open the calendar application in your mobile device. 2. Locate the AT&T Connect conference you wish to join and tap on the link to the conference. You will be connected to the conference within in a few moments. 3. Choose how you wish to connect your audio. For more information, see Connecting Your Audio.

3. PARTICIPATING IN A CONFERENCE
Welcome to the conference! The first screen you see is the Participants tab.

What Do You See in the Participants Tab?


The Participants tab lists the names of all the participants who are currently in the conference (including you). Your name is listed first and the presenters name is displayed in orange. An emoticon may be displayed to the right of each participants name. To the right of the emoticon column is an icon with the audio status of the participant. At the top of the screen are navigation buttons for switching between the Participants, Chat, Whiteboard and Conference tabs. The bottom of the screen displays, the name of the current speaker and the number of participants who are currently raising their hands. Note: In the Chat tab you write notes to the other conference participants. This feature will be available in the next version of AT&T Connect Mobile for Android.

The tables below describe the icons, notifications and buttons in the Participants tab. Table 1-Navigation Buttons/Notifications/Icons

Navigation buttons for accessing the applications tabs. Pressed buttons are white and blue. The number in parenthesis in the Participants button indicates how many participants are in the conference. Currently the Chat tab is not enabled. Me area displaying your name, emoticon and audio status (see below). In the Me area, buttons for muting and unmuting your microphone. When your audio is connected, this button displays your audio state. For more information, see Mute or Unmute Your Microphone.

Default state of Mute/Unmute button. Indicates that your audio is connected and your microphone is not muted.

Selected state of Mute/Unmute button. Indicates that your microphone is muted.

Indicates that your audio is not connected.

Indicates that you are speaking.

Indicates that your microphone is muted and locked. In the Me area, button for selecting an emoticon to be displayed to the other participants. This button also displays the last emoticon you choose. For more information, see Use Emoticons to Express Your Mood, Opinion and More.

Default state of Emoticon button. Indicates that you hve not selected an emoticon.

Selected state of Emoticon button, in this case a Smiley. Status bar indicates who is currently speaking in the conference. Also indicates how many participants are raising their hands.

What Can You Do in the Participants Tab?


This section describes what actions you can perform in the Participants tab during the conference.

Mute or Unmute Your Microphone


1. To mute your microphone, tap on the Mute/Unmute button.

Use Emoticons to Express Your Mood, Opinion and More


Even if you arent speaking in the conference, you can express yourself with the following emoticons. You can also virtually raise your hand and step out of (and back into) the conference.

Figure 18-Emoticon Button 2. Choose the emoticon that represents what you wish to convey. The emoticon is displayed to the right of your name in the Participants list and the Emoticon button changes to the state you chose. 3. To clear the emoticon, tap on the emoticons button again. Your emoticon is cleared and the Emoticon button changes back to its original state. Note: The hand icon in the status bar shows how many participants are raising their hands (including you).

View Information about the Participants


View information about a participant in the participants card. This information includes the way in which the participant is connected to the conference, the participants emoticon and the audio status of the participant. To view the participants card: Do a long tap on the participants name in the Participants list.

What Do You See on the Whiteboard?


During a conference, the presenter may wish to share an application on the whiteboard, in the Whiteboard tab. When content is ready for viewing, a blue indication is displayed on the bottom of the Whiteboard button. By rotating your mobile device, you can view the whiteboard content in both portrait and landscape modes. The status bar is displayed in the both views. The toolbar buttons are displayed only in portrait mode. To view whiteboard content: When content is ready for viewing, tap on the Whiteboard button to open the Whiteboard tab.

What Do You See in the Conference Tab?


The Conference tab displays the conferences name and ID number. Tap on the Conference button to open the Conference Settings tab.

What Can You Do in the Conference Tab?


Connect Your Audio
If you did not connected your audio when joining the conference or if your audio was disconnected, tap on Audio Connection to connect (or reconnect). For more information, see Connecting Your Audio.

Access Application Information


1. Tap on About in the Conference Settings screen to open the information screen.

Report a Problem
If you have a problem with the application, you can report it. You can also attach logs which provide relevant information from your mobile device to the support and development teams. 1. Tap on About in the Conference Settings screen to open the information screen. 2. Tap on Report a Problem to open the Report a Problem screen.

Exiting the Conference


1. Tap back on your mobile device. 2. Tap Yes when you are asked for confirmation.
