Michael Jacksons Influence on Usher.

Few have had a bigger influence on today's musical artists than Michael Jackson. Younger singers, from Justin Timberlake to Usher and Chris Brown, have emulated his dance moves, his look and his sound. He was, for many, the ultimate performer. "[His influence] feels like something that is instilled and embedded in anyone who wanted to create anything musically," said Marsha Ambrosius. For many of the younger generation, he was the first to not just cross over but explode onto the pop charts from the R & B scene. His phenomenal talent and worldwide appeal made his throne one to be aspired to even as they stood in awe of him. This was especially true for the world renowned pop-star Usher. As people mourn the death of the pop star Michael Jackson, fans, the news media, and others are discussing his charitable work, which some say paved the way for the current surge in celebrity philanthropy. The entertainer was once bummed during his life, including USA for Africa, the Make-aWish Foundation, and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. He reportedly was listed in the 2000 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records for Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star. The number was 39. As a humanitarian, he is perhaps best known for We Are the World, the 1985 song he wrote with Lionel Richie that raised millions of dollars for famine relief in Africa. To honour the King of Pops philanthropy, some fans and small companies have pledged to make donations to his favourite charities. Usher founded New Look, a non-profit charity organization which aims to "provide young people with a new look on life through education and real-world experience". Its flagship project, camp New Look, ran from July 11 to July 23, 2005 in Clark Atlanta University. In 2006, the charity started an initiative called Our Block, for which it helped rebuild and revitalize city blocks in New Orleans. The project went on one street at a time, and the funding was helped through part of the proceeds of Usher's teamup with Armani Exchange in creating "Love 4 Life" dog tags, which were made available at the company's stores and Web site. Michael Jacksons moonwalk has left generations of dancers aspiring to mimic his famous moves, according to the world's top choreographers. Jackson began his takeover as the King of Pop when he launched his solo career in the early 1970s, prompting a string of dance hits and an earth-shaking impact on the dance world. Jackson's dancing also changed the format of the music video its style, its story, its production values and its audience. For swagger and attitude, the gang scene Beat him ups the ass in West Side Story, from which it drew inspiration. And then, of course, there was Thriller. It wasn't just the horror-film plot and effects the grizzly zombies busting out of graves were literally ground breaking that made this the best-selling music video ever, it was the dancing: taut, perfectly rhythmic and cool. With Bad, he introduced his infamous crotch-grab and in Smooth Criminal he executed the gravity-defying lean. The moves became iconic. Jacksons influence spreads far and wide. From dance in Bollywood to the sharply choreographed boy bands of the 90s, the patterns of his smooth formation drills have become a part of modern pop culture. Without Jackson, a whole generation of people might not have been involved in dance today. Michael Jackson is one few pop icons of his time to have a rather expressive and unique signature in his dance moves. Usher is often identified with his dance and seems to be shaping his image around his dance routines. Usher, has very much adopted the intensity and expression in his dance routines.
