As we move into 2012, I wonder if the last year may have left you a little stunned? The last 2 years have certainly been interesting for most people. Think back to where you were 2 years ago - I wouldnt be surprised to hear if there have been quite a few twists and turns in your life. Astrology helps us keep track of cycles on a collective and individual level and we are all going to experience some groundbreaking changes in different areas of our lives over the next few years. When I write your forecasts, Im looking at an energy pattern that can be felt collectively and honing in on a particular area for each sun sign. I am conscious that some people who read this will have little or no experience or understanding of astrology and some of you may be more advanced. My aim is to make the yearly forecast an enjoyable read for everyone who comes across it. Ive thrown in a few astrology phrases and words here and there that you may not be familiar with, but if you are interested in understanding a little more about astrology I suggest you visit www.astroartisan.com for a detailed, free information portal about astrology cycles. people who have been negatively affected by these current times and who are struggling in one way or another. Perhaps we have family members or friends who are coming to terms with losing a job, or even their home. Perhaps we have experienced this ourselves. If we are fortunate enough to have missed the current financial tension in our own arena, its impossible to escape the daily bombardment of financial forecasting. This affects us all in some way and whilst we may have started to see the green shoots of recovery in some areas of the world, there will be peaks and troughs over the coming years. This is not a comfortable process. It does mean that we will find creative ways to make things work for us. It also gives us the benefit of taking a closer look at our lives and the lives of people around us, and make readjustments to our current perspectives.

2012 The Cross Over

2012 brings some fundamental changes. Something new is on the horizon. We caught glimpses of what those changes might mean last year, but this year takes us right to the heart of the matter. 2012 marks the peak of a transition; a cross over into a new, exciting, and at times challenging era. Many of us have already been directly affected by the global recession, and it impacts on us all in different ways. Of course some people are doing well, maybe even better than before - our own individual cycles play a part in how we are currently faring. Regardless of our own circumstances, we may know

Im a great believer in compassion specifically grounded compassion, which is really an acknowledgment of other people around us. Its sad this has been so severely lacking that, when we do experience it, we dont actually recognise it any more. When people do things for us, most people subconsciously reach for a motive. If we cant see or fathom a motive, we are immediately suspicious and perhaps even mildly condemning. Our immediate response is distrust because this is not something we experience very often. We have lived in a WIIFM (Whats in it for me) society for way too long and I believe this has eroded our sense of community. I propose a WIIFU (Whats in it for us) society, starting in 2012 - a more integrative and balanced point of view that ensures we meet not only our own needs, but the needs of the

2012 Bringing Compassion back into Fashion!

people with whom we come into contact day to day. 2012 potentially brings compassion and kindness back into vogue on a humanitarian and global level. Actually, I think this trend has started already check out yearofkindness (you can click on the link) a blog I found particularly inspirational. Written by an Aries with a mission, she recently spoke about her thoughts and experiences whilst promoting kindness. In her post titled Kindness Army (very Aries indeed!) she said;
I cant quite believe that I am now almost six months into my Year of Kindness. Seems like only yesterday I was stumbling through my very first day, offering smiles to strangers and receiving very few in return. I didnt like all the negativity, selfishness and cruelty I saw all around me. After a long time of feeling frustrated and helpless, I decided I would do something about it. I wanted to prove (to myself as much as anyone else) that despite all the inevitable bad stuff in life, even the smallest acts of good can be powerful in the most unexpected ways and every single person has the power to make the world a kinder place.

A Pivotal Point

2012 has stood out for most astrologers as being a pivotal year due to Pluto and Uranus coming together. These 2 major planets form a number of exact tense aspects over the next few years and 2012 begins this process. Tension is not necessarily bad, but we are all being driven towards change in some way. I have written about how these 2 planets directly affect you in your report.

How to use this guide

You can, of course, read your guide from beginning to the end if you wish. I have written your yearly report in sections and there are different ways you can utilize this report throughout the year. Part 1 looks at the major trends for your sun sign incorporating the dominant themes from the beginning of 2012 throughout the year. You will also find links to various articles (they look like this Link) describing some of the planets I mention in your report - read them as you go through, or come back to them later. They will give you a better idea about what I have based your report on, and give you a deeper insight into the planets. The summary section (Part 2) breaks down your themes for the year into 3 main areas - love and relationships, money and finance and career and status - You can get a better idea about what to expect in each of these particular areas of your life by reading this section. Part 3 covers the effects of the main planetary movements as they move from one sign to another (technically termed ingresses) and eclipses on your sign in 2012. I have focussed on Neptune, Saturn and Jupiter who all move into different signs this year. The eclipse section highlights the potential affects of the eclipse for your sun sign. (You can also refer to the calendars in part 4 to get a clearer idea about the timing of these events throughout the year.)

Part 4 contains the moon calendar highlighting 4 phases of the moon each month with corresponding dates, signs and degrees. Each phase is significant depending on what sign it is in and I take this into account when I write your monthly astrology report and overview on AstroArtisan. You will also find the eclipses highlighted on the moon calendar. The direct, station and retrograde calendar shows times when Mercury, Venus and Mars are moving backwards and forwards and the point they stop (station) in between. (There is an explanation of the different phases of these movements in this section) Again, these will all have bearing on us in some way and I have focussed on these particular planets (the personal planets) - as their motion is likely to have a big impact. Aquarius - The Transition

Over the last 14 years you may have noticed that life got very well shall I just say strange, and whilst you were struggling to define yourself, you may have found at various stages that you were enveloped in a hazy mist leaving you unsure whether you were coming or going at times. I have really felt for Aquarians during this time as I know that hazy mists do not suit you. There may have been confusion over who you were or what you were presenting and you spent some considerable time trying to find out where you were going. This year the mist leaves you (at last) giving you the opportunity to find yourself again.

About Aquarius

You are known for your slightly different outlook on life, mild to moderate eccentricities and detached view of the world. The wonderful advantage you have is in your ability to view the world from a birds eye perspective, being involved, but not involved simultaneously. At the same time this can prove to be quite challenging in many respects as you can often sit on the outskirts and feel like a bit of an outsider at times, but this doesnt usually faze you too much. Your ability to see the picture from another perspective means that you are future orientated (when your in the mire of life it can be pretty hard to see whats around us but you view life through a slightly different lens) Some may accuse you of coldness, but your humanitarian streak shows your caring attitude towards the collective. Even though you may like to step to the side as far as emotions are concerned, you do have a sense of responsibility to the world at large and this may be why your friendships are so important to you.

All the Aquarians I know are highly intelligent and extremely perceptive, and again this is probably down to your ability to analyse a situation without being bogged down in the depths of emotion. Of course you do feel Aquarius that goes without saying; but youre more likely to spend time picking a situation apart and making sense out of it rather than wallowing in the mire and drama of it all. Aquarius, you can be a little mischievous and this may be down to your needing to know how people tick. Like a mad and crazy scientist, you like to probe into peoples mind and understand how people work. There is a certain fixedness to your views and outward behaviour which is why some people may say you are a little stubborn. However, in recent years, you have perhaps gone through some changes in this respect, not necessarily becoming less fixed, but a transformation is taking place and any previous long held ideas you may have had are being subtly challenged, not necessarily by other people, but yourself. This is down to Plutos influence currently in the backdrop of your life.

Pluto the DemoteD Planet - Still making a Big imPact Pluto is the slowest moving planet and takes 248 years to complete a circle around the zodiac. You may have heard that Pluto recently got demoted and lost its planetary status, but this makes no difference to the overhauling and transformative effect this planet has when we look at astrology cycles. Pluto transforms and it transforms because it digs. Whatever area of your life Pluto affects is in for an overhaul period. Unlike Uranus, which tends to work in a sporadic, chaotic, lightening flash way, Pluto takes its time, is thorough and leaves no stone unturned. This planet uproots, unearths and through this process shifts our foundations from the core. This is the transforming effect of Pluto.

Sub-Levels - excavating Below Ground Level

Its likely that you can feel profound changes occurring and as thoughts and memories drift from the past, you will find yourself attempting to tie them into your present situation. This may feel quite challenging as you try to connect the dots. You may have found yourself asking questions such as; how did I get from there to here? Why am I the person I am today? What has shaped my current circumstances?

These are not easy questions to answer, but whether you realise it or not, this is having a big impact on the way you see the world and how you present yourself. What is interesting about this influence is that this will also affect how and what you communicate to other people. If you have found yourself having sudden ephinanys or understandings that had previously escaped you, this is due to Uranus your ruling planet influencing your communications and thoughts.

uranuS Uranus is one of what we call the outer planets. These planets pack a hefty punch wherever they are in our chart - they are the transformers, up heavers, movers and shakers on a grand scale. I like to call them the planets that can move a mountain as they have the potential of bringing big change and energy shifts when they impact our charts. Out of all the outer planets, Uranus is the most unpredictable, quirky, strange and electric. Whenever I think about Uranus, I think about the shape and mechanism of this planet and how it operates in our solar system. Uranus is the only planet in the solar system we know about that tilts on a weird axis. Uranus topsy-turvy orbit really describes how this planet works in astrology. So think about a weird and wonderful, upside down and unexpected energy affecting your life and well, anything is possible and anything can happen. The Shock Factor

Uranus is your ruling planet which means you have a natural affinity with this planets energy. In previous years, you have probably met with some confusion perhaps regarding your identity. Maybe you felt as if you had lost your voice and become a little more subdued as you processed the events around you. Uranus in Aries gives you back your voice and this may almost feel quite explosive at times. You will be saying what you have to say with more confidence and whilst youre not usually backwards in coming forwards with your opinions and views you will find in 2012 you will really start to let rip and your back on full form. Youre known for your ability to think outside the box and this energy certainly gives you to impetus to do just that in abundance. Uranus has been in Aries since 2010, but there were certain restrictions you may have faced regarding your communications that may have left you feeling a little hampered, or you were in a situation which meant that you were not able to fully express yourself. The big challenge for Aquarius in 2012 is to integrate the changes you are currently experiencing, whilst having a level of awareness about what you say and how you communicate to the people around you. There is the potential here to shock (which I know you are not averse to) but just make sure that you dont end up shocking yourself! Positively harnessed, this influence could find you nominated as the spokesperson for a group of people, and if there are any causes you feel strongly about that need a revolutionary, fearless spokesperson you may end up in a position that allows you to do just that!

The end of Financial Drama

You will find that in 2012, you are coming out of a phase which possibly saw you in the middle of a financial drama. Its possible that you begun to see a way out of a very complicated situation, and you were left wondering if you would ever reap the rewards for hard work you have done. If it hasnt been that bad, your finances may have been a little sporadic. 2012 brings those rewards, but weirdly enough its something that you wont immediately recognise. It may transpire that you wake up and realise you are finished with the drama and are actually in quite a comfortable position again. Its only when you start to look closely and reassess where you were that you begin to see what a huge journey you have been on in regards to your finances. This is related to Neptunes flow influencing your personal finances.

nePtune This planet in astrology is associated with higher visions, dreams, fantasy, illusion and all things mystical and unseen. Neptune settles into Pisces this year for 14 years and this is where Neptune operates best as this planet rules the sign of Pisces. Neptune is diffuse and difficult to grasp, but if you are naturally inclined towards non-linear perspectives, then Neptune in Pisces is likely to be an energy that will be a joy to work with. In some ways, this planet acted a little out of character when it was in the sign of Aquarius as the 2 have quite different agendas and ways of operating. With Neptune back in its honourable and rightful place from February 2012, we could see themes regarding compassion, idealism, romance, understanding, equality and tolerance becoming prevalent in our lives. Smooth Financial Transactions

Neptune is moving through your finance area and if in recent years you have seen your finances go up and down like a yo-yo, Neptune may bring a stabilising affect to your financial affairs. Neptune is a little insidious and this influence doesnt necessarily mean you will achieve an over-night turnaround in regards to your finances. You may find that things tend to go smoothly in this area without much effort on your part, allowing you to sit back and relax a little which may have been something you havent been able to do for a while. With this new sense of calm in your finances, you will also feel a little more confident in your ability to ride any potential storms and the panic or at the very least fluctuations in the past are finally firmly behind you. Its likely that you will also feel a sense of calm regarding what you are worth and what you have to offer. If this has been on your mind and you experienced some turbulence youll feel a lot more confident and capable in this area of your life. If you have felt like you have been pushing hard and not really getting

anywhere, the nice thing about this influence is that you wont have to push at all. Perhaps you will experience a change in perspective here, or maybe life will become a lot easier in this respect. For the first few months of 2012, you may find that your finances get a little extra attention - you are in the last throes of organising and structuring your money situation in 2012, and if you do find that there are confusions at the beginning of the year, this is likely to be temporary.

Serious Outlooks - Defining What You Know

Over the last 2 years, you may have found that you got quite serious about learning something or undertaking a specific task. You probably felt quite determined to understand and gain a deeper insight into a subject you were learning and applied the discipline to do so. There were other considerations to take into account which may not have made this easy. This year, youre more focussed and your ability to hone on your skills becomes quite potent. Saturns influence here is about gaining the discipline and structure you need to take yourself to the next level.

Saturn Father time Saturn is the planet associated with restrictions, lessons and time. It also lends structure and discipline to the area of our chart it impacts. This planet is a bit like Father Time and can bring a feeling of delays and hold ups. Whichever area Saturn is impacting gives us the effect that everything has slowed down. The positive side of Saturn is that it stabilises, as well as teaches us patience through what can seem like a long and arduous climb. Although the impact of this planet feels frustrating, in the long run we may find that we take a more structured approach to the area it impacts. Saturn is also associated with the wisdom and patience of maturity.

The Steady Climb

You may have put some serious thought into what you believe in terms of your ideals and understanding and views about your life and the world. You were considering where you fit and where you could contribute and how you wish to incorporate this into who you are. This continues in 2012 without the hindrances you have experienced over the last 2 years. You hit the pinnacle of this in October 2012 when it is likely that whatever you put your mind to understanding begins to come into fruition through your career. If you have been striving towards gaining some expertise at something, the end of 2012 will perhaps place you on the map. Your focus will be very much on what you do for a living, or how people view you, and there is the potential for you to begin to really make some strides in your career.

If your home life has been your main focus over the last 6 months, you will continue to enjoy this into 2012 and this works really well with your up and coming status upgrade. Your foundations were hopefully set, and there may be a point at the beginning of the year where you will question where your priorities lie. Its clear Aquarius; and by the end of October 2012 you will be taken very seriously in whatever role you choose to present yourself in. There has been a continuous focus on your home life for a while and 2011 may have seen you feathering your nest in some way. After recent years which could have felt quite tumultuous, you want nothing more than some peace and stability. Jupiter sat at the base of your chart, pulling your focus onto matters concerning your home and (perhaps after much pushing and pulling) you will find you have some stability in this area of your life. This has been part of an ongoing process which included delving into your past, and it would appear that you are now ready to settle down and create a stable base in order to give you some much needed grounding. The first 8 months of the year place a particular emphasis on loans, finances and mergers and if your home (and any financial implications related to your home) has been a focal point recently you will perhaps find it easy to become more settled in your environment and in turn more settled in yourself. Jupiter has been moving across the base of your chart bringing these themes into focus.

JuPiter Jupiters expansion can bring rewards and inflates whatever it touches. Jupiter is seen as the luck planet by some as it tends to harness positivity and bring happy fortuitous circumstances into our lives. Jupiter inflates whatever it touches think largesse and growth and we have a good idea about the potentials of this planet. It has been said that Jupiter in a certain area of our charts can even literally expand our waistlines!! Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system and has an immense gravity field that deflects comets from hitting the earth giving us a certain amount of protection. There is also an element of protection associated with Jupiter in astrology.

A Little Fun and Frivolity A Happy Home and Stable Base

From mid 2011 you may have planned on expanding your family or perhaps moving house and expanding on your home in some way. This will also be a continuing theme for the first 6 months of 2012. You may have upgraded or moved somewhere which was larger and you were determined to build on something to give you a sense of security. This perhaps will have become quite a pressing need as you begun to realise that you require a sense of stability to help define who you are and in some way integrate the past with your present. You will find that if you are in the process of building and expanding your home, youre laying down important foundations which couldnt have come at a better time for you as you reach the end of one cycle and start to focus on your career and status. By the end of 2012, whatever ground work you have laid is likely to offer you some stability.

Once you have become more settled, you will want to focus on having some fun and exploring the creative part of your personality that perhaps hasnt seen the light of day for a long time due to everything else you have been focussed on. Children and romance are highlighted here and there may be opportunities to take up something that you have always wanted to do. By the end of the year, your focus may well be on work rather than play, however, if you can integrate these two areas of your life, you will find that by striking a balance between the two, you will feel as if you have complete control over your life.

Get your home in order, but more importantly start to enjoy it. Love and relationships

Romance and fun will be on your mind from the middle of 2012 and it is about time you had a little fun as life may have been very serious and confusing. You may find that there are a few nice opportunities here and this is about fun with a few frolics thrown in for good measure. You will perhaps seek someone who has the same sense of adventure as yourself and you may find that you meet someone who you can converse with on an equal level. If you are partnered up, you will spend time with your partner exploring, partaking in light banter and having fun you may even find yourself in receipt of lots of admirers. Whilst you may not want to get too serious or deep into a relationship, you will want to spend time with someone who you can relate to on a mental level. If you are partnered up you are seeking ways that you and your partner can bring some variety back into your relationship. You may find that you are spoilt for choice with this influence and any relationships you are involved in are fun, light hearted and keep life interesting.

Money and Finances

If it been a rollercoaster as far as your finances are concerned in recent years, 2012 finds you stepping off the ride and back onto solid ground. If it has been rocky, your financial situation should begin to even itself out from February 2012 and for whatever reason, you will feel a little less stressed about money. You are also in the process of creating some stability and money matters will be on your mind for the first 6 months in the year this is the perfect time to ensure that you have everything in order as you will have the opportunity to build on something. If money has been a real worry for you, you can perhaps look forward to 2012 (especially the first 6 months) and you will find that everything begins to come together for you.

Career, Public Image and Status

Keep honing, defining and building on your skills. If you have been studying and refining your skills or you found yourself entering learning environments of any kind, you were disciplined and committed to advancing and furthering you education and general outlook on life. This will really help you by the end of the year as you will feel more than ready to demonstrate all the knowledge you have gained. In some ways you will be reaping what you have sown in previous years. People will begin to take you very seriously and you are now entering a phase where you are seen as someone with vast knowledge and expertise in whatever you have developed over the last few years. This certainly may not have been an easy journey, but as you come into your own, you are able to define exactly what it is you have to offer and are potentially held in high esteem.

outer PlanetS changing SignS anD ecliPSeS 2012 Neptune moves into Pisces 3 Feb 2012 Saturn moves into Scorpio 5 Oct 2012 Jupiter moves into Gemini 11 June 2012 Planets changing signs mark important points in their cycles and change the flow of energy, moving us in a different direction. The personal planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, and the moon and sun move fairly quickly in comparison with the outer planets, so the quicker moving planets show the ebb and flow of our daily lives whilst they make different aspects in the chart. The outer planets changing signs are indicative of significant shifts and trends that can last many years. Last year, Neptune went into Pisces for the first time in 164 years and went back into Aquarius at the end of 2011. From February, Neptune will stay in Pisces for 14 years. Jupiter went into Taurus mid 2011 (where it will remain until June 2012) and will move into Gemini, and Uranus continued its stay in Aries and will be there for the next 7 years. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008 and will stay there for 13 years. Saturn has been in Libra since October 2009 and will move into Scorpio in October 2012. All these changes are significant and affect us all individually.

neptune The fuzz, haze and lack of direction are over. If it has been exceptionally difficult for you to keep up with yourself whilst you were questioning elements of your life, this may not have been easy for you. 2012 ends this period as Neptune moves into Pisces you will see that the financial situation that has been so turbelent for a long time now fades away. You could see your values change and what was once a pressing and stressful situation now seem to have miraculously fallen into place. You are likely to incorporate a broader and more encompassing perspective regarding your finances and this brings some much needed calm to what felt like chaotic conditions. There is the potential here that you realise that you dont need to fight so hard to establish your worth and that by just being yourself, everything else should begin to fall into place. Saturn This planet is big news for you and you will continue honing, defining and getting really clear about your aims, objectives and where you fit into the world. For the last couple of years, you may have been working really hard to gain some clarity about your general direction and aims in life and perhaps found yourself studying a particular subject you have become interested in or just really getting clear about where you wanted to be. This year, as Saturn reaches Scorpio; you will take what you have learned and bring it directly into your career. You will find yourself being taken seriously as people realise that you have the skills and have learnt how to apply them. You will continue to work hard, but there is an element of application involved. Jupiter Your home life has been in the spotlight for a while and you may have found yourself expanding on your current place of residence or even your family last year. This theme continues until mid 2012 until Jupiter moves into Gemini. Time for some fun Aquarius! Youll be seeking different ways to play outside of the seriousness of work which is a great balance for you as; by the end of the year you will perhaps have a bit more responsibility.

You will find yourself flitting from one fun activity to the next and there is a sense of busyness with this influence. You will derive pleasure from talking to lots of different people and there is a social element to any new creative endeavours you pick up this year. Romance could be on the agenda and you will perhaps look for someone who is on the same mental level of you and who you can enjoy fun, intelligent and witty conversations. However this comes up for you there may be a lot of communications implied within your creativity.

Mars retrogrades every 2.5 years and can bring about a time we are being pulled back a little in our efforts. Mars is active and associated with warrior type energies. It is what drives and fuels us to take action, so when it is retrograde we may be a little reticent in going forward. Mars usually spends just over a month in each sign, however Mars will spend 8 months travelling through Virgo. Rather than going full speed ahead, this Mars retrograde may pull you back. Outwards energies become inverted. You are perhaps looking at different ways to conduct your finances and this phase will potentially allow you some time to assess your current position. When Mars is direct here, you usually find yourself being driven to consolidate and merge. In a retrograde phase, you feel a little less driven, but are perhaps aware of potentials in regards to who you partner up with. This could have financial implications and you may find yourself going back to a past financial situation and working towards untangling any complications here before you feel confident to proceed. Once Mars is direct, its likely that, if you found yourself negotiating and not getting very far, you will be in a stronger position.

Mars retrograde

Venus retrograde

Venus will also retrograde this year in Gemini. Venus retrogrades mark a time when we rethink our relations. Venus is also associated with beauty, cosmetics, fine tailoring and anything aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. During the retrograde phase, its advisable not to go for any cosmetic treatments, get a new hair cut or buy anything that you think may suit you. There is the potential to look at it after the retrograde and not like what you see. If you do find yourself going over old ground, especially in relation to your love life, this is a good time to do so. We can use a Venus retrograde to reflect on what we find beautiful and how we conduct the relationships in our lives. Youll be finding different and new ways to be creative during this phase and perhaps go back to something you may have had to leave behind due to other pressures taking precedence. There is the potential for past romances to come back during this phase and you may even find yourself catching up with past lovers or simply reminiscing.

Mercury retrograde

I always make note of Mercury retrogrades. Its usual to find that communications go a little haywire during these times. Eclipses mark turning points in our lives, they also show beginnings, endings and potential changes in direction. The eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius bring everyones focus to communications, from local to global level. All planets station, direct and retrograde throughout the year. The personal planets Mercury, Venus and Mars have been illustrated in the calendars on the next pages. Pre-retrograde (shadow period) The pre retrograde phase (or shadow) marks a time when we begin to slow down. We may feel the tug of the planets energy as it prepares to go retrograde. This period allows us to gradually ease into the retrograde phase. Station Retrograde We can think of the station as a tipping point this is where the planet stops before it goes retrograde. If we think about standing on a ledge as we are about to tip over, the moment before we fall is perhaps the most tense and this is the feeling we may have at the stationary point. Retrograde The planet is now moving backwards (or we have the illusion of this motion from our positioning on earth) and this is usually a time where we go back to something or work in a different way with the planets energy. Station Direct The planet stops again in preparation to move forward after this point the planet is in direct motion. Post retrograde This period (also called a shadow) eases us out of the retrograde phase as we slowly gather momentum The energy may still be a little diffuse until we move past this phase. Perhaps look at the calendars, note the planets motions and see if you can feel the effects as we go through each phase.
