Ifyourapplicationisapproved,SoCalWater$martwillprovideyouwitharebatereservationnumberand anticipatedrebateamount.RebatesareonlyprocessedafterverificationbyMetropolitan,its contractor,oragentthattheapprovedprojecthasbeencompleted. Uponreceiptofyourrebatereservationnumber,youmaybeginyourproject.Youwillhave120daysto completethework. Yourwateragencymayhaveadditionaltermsandconditions.Ifapplicable,therequirementsareincludedwith thisapplicationpackage. ELIGIBILITY 1. Rebatesareavailableforresidentialpropertiesonly(singlefamilydetachedhomes,townhomes,duplexes, triplexesandfourplexes)thathavereceivedanapprovedrebatereservationnumber.Projectsthathavebeen startedoralreadycompletedpriortorebatereservationapprovalarenoteligible. 2. TheresidentialpropertymustreceivewaterservicefromaparticipatingMetropolitanmemberagencyorretail agency. 3. Areastobeconvertedmusthaveliveturfbeingirrigatedwithpotablewateratthetimetherebatereservation numberisprovided.Areasirrigatedwithrecycledwaterarenoteligible. 4. Onlypropertyownersmayapplyfortherebate. MINIMUMREQUIREMENTSFORTHECONVERTEDAREA Uponcompletion,theconvertedareamustmeetthefollowingrequirements: 1. Theareadoesnotincludeanyliveturforotherturflookinggrasses.(Syntheticturfisanapprovedoptionfor certainwateragencies;pleaseseeyouragencysrequirementsinthisapplication.Notallcitiesallowsyntheticturf installation.) 2. Allexposedsoilmustbecoveredwithaminimum2layerofmulch,exceptinareasplantedwithcreepingor rootinggroundcoversordirectlyseeded. 3. Convertedareasmustbepermeabletoairandwater.Weedbarriersmustbepermeable.Concrete,plastic sheetingorotherimpermeablesurfacesdonotqualify. 4. Noinvasiveplantspeciesareused.InvasiveplantsareidentifiedintheCaliforniaInvasivePlantCouncilDont PlantaPestprogram(http://www.calipc.org/landscaping/dpp/pdf/SoCalPrintable.pdf) 5. Conversionsmustcomplywithallapplicablelaws,codes,policies,covenants,conditions,andrestrictions. PROGRAMTERMS 1. OnlyoneTurfRemovalrebateperaddresswillbeissued.Pleaseapplyforthemaximumareayouplanto convertwhiletherebatereservationisvalid(120days). 2. Atleast250squarefeetofturfmustberemoved.Projectsunder250squarefeetwillonlyqualifyiftheywill completelyeliminateturffromaproperty(excludingparkwayareas). 3. ThemaximumrebateamountisdeterminedbytheMetropolitanmemberagencyorretailagencyservingthe property.Therebateamountpersquarefootofturfremovedandmaximumamountwillbeasstatedinthe applicationpackage. 4. Rebatereservationsarevalidfor120days.ProjectsmustbecompletedandtheRebateRequest(Part2ofthe applicationform)submittedpriortothereservationexpiring. 5. Rebatesmaybeconsideredtaxableincome.Metropolitanandparticipatingwateragenciesarenotresponsiblefor anytaxesthatmaybeimposedasaresultofyourreceiptofanyrebate. 6. ConvertedareaandirrigatedareameasurementsaresubjecttoinspectionandverificationbyMetropolitan,its contractor,oragent.Iftheconversionormeasurementscannotbeverified,anyfundsreceivedbytheapplicant mustbereturned,includingprocessingcosts. 7. Theconvertedareamustremainincompliancewithallprogramconditionsforaperiodof5years.Ifthis requirementisviolated,youmayberequiredtorefundalloraportionoftherebate.Thisrequirementisvoid upontransferofownership.
